Beginner’s Silverclay Workshop-Day Long -Newcastle upon Tyne
No experience necessary. Within 5 hours (1 hour lunch break), you will be able to make several pieces of small silver jewellery (earrings and pendants or a bracelet charm) and you will also be able to make your own silicone mould and a silver clay moulded piece. For this please bring some items you want make a replica in silver. At the end of the day you will take your sparkling creations home! With your workshop booking you will also get a 10% Discount Voucher for the Biscuit Factory Kitchen to treat yourself during your lunch break. What's included in the price?
All instructions, 10g Art Silver Clay – enough silver clay for 2-3 pieces (worth £22.5), use of required equipment (rollers, spacers, textures, cutters, brushes, firing equipment and many more). You also get sterling silver jump ring for pendants , charms and/or earring wires, gemstone (cz) polishing cloth etc. What you learn: Rolling & cutting, texturing, layering, pre-fire finishing, post fire finishing, polishing, oxidising to create ‘antiquing’ effect. Sterling silver chains and extra clay can be purchased for a discounted price during the class. Studio Rules Long hair needs to be tied back Do not wear open-toe shoes in the studio Do not wear clothing or jewellery that hangs-off the body that might be a danger while using tools and/or machinery Follow the Government’s current COVID-19 guidelines Do not come to your session if you have COVID-19 symptoms or have a positive COVID-19 test Please use the provided hand-sanitizer when you enter the studio All bookings are COVID SAFE– If the Covid Guidelines changes and won’t allow us to go ahead with the workshop, your booking will be safe until we can return back to workshops. There is no time limit attached to this. Attendee limits: Up to 6 attendees.

Emine is a designer-maker of contemporary jewellery. She lives in Whitley Bay and works from her studio at the Biscuit Box Studios in Newcastle upon Tyne. Her work often explores amalgamation of materials and techniques to achieve harmonious wearable objects. She combines traditional silversmithing techniques with metal clay techniques. She shares her love of creating jewellery with others in her silver clay workshops within her studio and at six other galleries across North East.
