Create beautiful botanical images on paper using real foliage and flowers gathered from the gardens at Claydon Estate. Ecoprinting is a form of monoprint, or botanical contact print. Using heat and pressure you will learn to transfer the pigment and outline directly from leaf to paper. You will learn how to use natural dyes and pigments to enhance your prints. Lisa now has a textile design business focused on hand-dyed and hand-crafted textiles. This workshop will be focused on making patterns using the ancient Japanese technique known as Shibori, followed by dyeing with indigo. Techniques taught will include folding, clamping, twisting and tying fabric to create a resist once the fabric enters the dye pot.
