"We had a brilliant session with Richard on the half day pottery throwing workshop. We came away having learnt lots of new skills and made several lovely pots during the course. We are really looking forward to going back to glaze our pots once they’ve been fired and can’t wait to have a go at Raku next year!"

"This was a brilliant birthday present for my partner. We had a really fun day out, learning something completely new and coming home with beautiful creations (wasn’t expecting to feel as happy with them for a first attempt). Richard was a very engaging teacher. We were total beginners but he made the course accessible as well as catering for those in the class who came with experience. We met some lovely people on the course - a really memorable day and introduction to a craft we would 100% like to continue with. Thank you Richard!"

"We had a great day - got to try pinch pots and hand building in the morning and using the wheel in the afternoon. It was really good fun, and Richard is a very patient and attentive tutor - there were 6 of us in the group and we all had lots of help. Looking forward to returning to glaze our pots!, "

"I absolutely recommend doing this course! Richard creates such a friendly, relaxed atmosphere and is extremely knowledgable. I glazed 4 pots, which felt well paced over the day. It was a lovely intimate and social way to learn about making and I’ll be heading back for more of his courses! "

"I recently attended the one day Raku Workshop. It was a thoroughly enjoyable, informative course and I came away with an appreciation of different raku techniques. Richard was very mindful of health & safety, especially considering the recent heatwave and working with a raku kiln. He gave very clear instructions and the course was adapted for potters and non-potters alike. A very good day and the group produced some excellent examples of raku pieces. I can highly recommend it!"

"Absorbing 2 hours. There were 6 people on the session we joined a family of 4. Richard demonstrated and explained the basics and then let us loose with the pottery wheels. Depending on your luck/skill most of the group managed to make 3 small pots. We need to make an appointment to go back in about a month to glaze our makes then once they are fired we can return to collect them. A really good 2 hours and looking forward to seeing if our creations survive the kiln."

It was a really hands on and interesting day with everything organised and once the kiln was up to temperature we ran through a list of raku techniques with hardly time for lunch… thank you so much for your kind encouragement and for sharing at least some of your secrets."

"This was a great chill out experience with my son , we were lucky in that there were just the 2 of us so we had great attentive tuition and became quite proficient at creating unique one off bespoke bowls ? One negative but it did not spoil the experience I think the environment could do with a good clean up , it's a messy process but it would not take a lot to tidy up a bit more, sorry but trying to be honest in the review"

"We would like to thank Richard for a thoroughly wonderful time. My daughter and I attended for a 3 hour workshop on throwing. Richard has a vast experience in pottery and ceramics and was able to teach us both (no easy task!) how to use the wheel to throw and make a pot! Richard is a skilled teacher and made you feel incredibly comfortable. My daughter and I were successfully able to make several pots a thing I though would not be possible! Richard also taught us other techniques for pot making during the session and we also had a chance to make a coil pot. We would highly recommend Richard and will definitely be booking again to develop our skills further. Thank you again for a lovely time."
