"I really enjoyed the wood carving course at Snowshill Manor on 20-21 May. Geraint was a great tutor, explained everything carefully and came round all the time to show the technique and give advice. The setting in the orchard was beautiful looking into the hills and lovely cafe on site. It was a great mix of fun people. I would highly recommend this course to anyone. "

"The wood carving, led by Geraint, was exactly the right mix of suggestions, encouragement, and showing techniques. The rate of work had to be focused in order to complete the project over the weekend. All in all, very well organised and a very satisfying weekend."

"I’ve just done the two day stone carving course at Chillington Hall. It’s a beautiful location and really well run by Miranda. I’ve never done stone carving before but I really wanted to try it. It’s not easy in the sense that it takes time and patience to get it right and think through the steps but the advice and support is excellent. Once I had a grasp of what I was doing it’s a really satisfying activity where you can lose yourself in the work and take occasional steps back in order to observe your work. I wasn’t quite able to finish my piece completely but I took some paper home to do this in my own time. I’d highly recommend this course and am grateful to Mirander for her patience. It’s something I’d definitely be interested in doing more of! "

"I’ve just finished the two-day stone carving course at Middleton hall and utterly enjoyed it. Miranda who ran the course was a great teacher making the process really enjoyable explaining everything in such a clear way that made it possible for everyone to accomplish a finished sculpture in the set time. It exceeded what I ever thought I could achieve in stone; think I’ve now got the bug and I'm looking into buying my own tools and stone to have a go at home. "I did the two day course, it was very informative and Geraint was absolutely brilliant, coming round to each of us to check that we were happy with our work, if there was a problem, he would correct it, if needed, or tell you how to do it, all the tools were there, as was the wood and a variety of stencils to choose from. I have never carved at all, but surprised myself at the end and produced a hedgehog curled up. I might do it again and choose a different piece. Thoroughly worth it."

"Attended the two day wood carving course with my sister. We both thoroughly enjoyed the course and found the instruction to be excellent. Though we were total beginners we came away with carvings that we are really pleased with. Would highly recommend this course to all."
