Julie May reviewed: Mosaics workshop with Anne

"I expected the class to be basic but I imagined I might bring something bigger home but I have learned the basics which is what I wanted to learn and took my piece home with me. I would have preferred more time to decide on type/colour scheme/design - had to make some quick decisions. But still I enjoyed the class and hope to come back."

Gary karmy reviewed: Powertex SteamPunk Top Hat -3D Fabric Sculpting Workshop - by Inky Escapades

"My day making the steam punk hat was a great experience and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Karen is absolutely great, she is very laid back, letting you do your own crafting but always there to help with her expertise. You do not need any special knowledge or skills as Karen shows you everything. I was totally absorbed in my own world for the whole day! I would definitely recommend this course."

Inky Escapades responded:

"Wow Gary what a lovely review it was so kind of you and I really enjoyed meeting you. Your Steam Punk Hat was fantastic you did a great job Your review tipped me into the Gold Award too so thats a massive bonus for me Thank You Kind Regards Karen Hewitt"

Julia Berry reviewed: Two day painting workshop in West Pembrokeshire with Kate Freeman

"My daughter and I did this 2-day course with Kate in early June. Sorry to take so long to write about our wonderful experience. We both enjoy doing a variety of ‘arts and crafts’ as enthusiastic amateurs. This course giving us the opportunity to investigate the ‘nuts and bolts’ of making a painting not ‘painting pictures’ really appealed. Kate took us on an incredible journey learning how to use and integrate different colours, materials and techniques. A real eye opener – exciting, engaging, totally absorbing, some times daunting but lots of fun. Her enthusiasm and encouragement is infectious. We came way with a folder and sketchbook of our own examples which I am still enjoying working on. We are still both regularly pursuing some of the multi media techniques and I love using the mindful drawing as a starter. Thank you Kate you are inspirational. AND beautiful setting, spacious studio, real coffee, tasty veggie lunches, delicious cake and ‘wine o clock’ - all such a treat."

Coach House Studio responded:

"Thank you Julia - it was a pleasure to share my favourite painting practices with you and Tessa. I'm so glad you found the course inspiring. Best of all, you've carried on working using techniques learned during your time here. I'd love to see some photos of your paintings sometime! It was lovely to meet you, and hope to see you again. Happy painting ? "

Anna reviewed: Raku - learn the exciting art of rapid Japanese glaze firing

"We had a lovely day, I recommend this course. So much information, you will need your notebook! It was a really hands on and interesting day with everything organised and once the kiln was up to temperature we ran through a list of raku techniques with hardly time for lunch… thank you so much for your kind encouragement and for sharing at least some of your secrets."

Potterydayz responded:

" I am glad you enjoyed the day, it was a pleasure to Raku with you and you are most welcome- I hope to see you again."

Kate reviewed: Alien spoon carving

"We have just attended Alan's carving for kids course, which was brilliant. He had the children captivated, I have never seen them so focused! Well worth doing and so nice to engage the kids in a craft that they can learn and enjoy throughout their lives. A wonderful antidote to screen time! Alan is very knowledgeable and was a patient and inspiring teacher. We look forward to learning more!"

Sarah Lodge reviewed: Hare Sculpture workshop with Jo Garden Art in beautiful Norfolk/Suffolk

"I took part in Jo's 1 day hare sculpture course yesterday, and I've got to say it was the best craft course I've ever attended! Jo's studio is a wonderful space to get creative in, which sits in her beautiful and peaceful garden, and Jo is a fantastic tutor. She is very knowledgable and struck the perfect balance between leaving us to create our sculptures, and offering help and advice when needed. I found the whole day a very rewarding experience, and despite being worried I wouldn't finish, I came home with a fabulous moongazing hare which I love! I would highly recommend Jo and her courses to everyone - if you're thinking of booking - do it - I promise you won't be disappointed!"

Jo Garden Art responded:

"Thank you Sarah! You upgraded to the largest hare size which is quite a challenge within 1 day, but you were amazing and created your wonderful chunky hare which you finished in copper paint which will patinate over the coming days. Have great fun creating a second large hare with the kit you took home! Do not hesitate to make contact if you have any questions ? Jo x"

Wendy Beecher reviewed: Make a coloured copper dish with Gill Bridgestock

"All Gill's classes are a joy to attend! In this copper workshop Gill takes participants through every bit of the process, bringing her knowledge and expertise to offer encouragement, advice, help where necessary, but never imposing her own ideas...delighted with my beautiful copper dish (a perfect memento for my son and daughter-in-law's copper wedding anniversary!), plus printed instructions and explanations. A very enjoyable morning in a pleasant location, you just need to bring yourself!"

Graham reviewed: Pot throwing on the wheel for a Half Day

"This was a great chill out experience with my son , we were lucky in that there were just the 2 of us so we had great attentive tuition and became quite proficient at creating unique one off bespoke bowls ? One negative but it did not spoil the experience I think the environment could do with a good clean up , it's a messy process but it would not take a lot to tidy up a bit more, sorry but trying to be honest in the review"

Potterydayz responded:

"Delighted you enjoyed the experience with your son. I'm pleased you found the tuition of value, particularly as you were the only visitors on that occasion and as you mention, you both settled into the process well to produce some great pieces of work during the time here. Is it time for a change of career for you- its never to late? Hope to see you again."

Andy T reviewed: Greenwood carving at Sallerton Wood

"This is one course you will not want to miss. Whether beginner or practiced you will know so much more than when you arrived. Andy is probably the most knowledgeable woodsman I have met in nearly 35 years of carpentry. Andy and Jane were the the best of hosts, providing both delicious lunches and snacks and story telling over coffee. All I need now is an excuse to return in the near future."

Sallerton Wood responded:

"Thank you very much indeed for that very enthusiastic review, Andy. We are delighted that you enjoyed your experience at Sallerton Wood so much, and we look forward to welcoming you back to Sallerton Wood when you return for another course. "

Sarah reviewed: Beginners half-day 1-2-1 pottery / ceramics workshop for 1 person

"I had a fantastic morning on my 1-2-1 ceramics session with Louise and I would very much recommend the course! Such a relaxing atmosphere, with plenty of time to learn about techniques and make a variety of pieces, from which you choose your favourite three to be fired. Louise's tuition is clear and she's on hand all morning to both chat and give advice, but also allows space for you to immerse yourself in what you're doing. I loved my first experience of the wheel (even my wonky finished pieces made me smile) and now I just want to do more! ?"

Blended Monkey - pottery - woodturning - green woodworking - pole lathe - throwing responded:

"Sarah, it was a delight having you in the studio :-). You made some beautiful pieces - especially your two slab vases; very elegant - and you got to grips with the throwing processes very quickly. Well done! I'll let you know when your lovely pieces have been glazed and fired and ready for collection :-)."

Janet Leitch reviewed: Free-machine Embroidery Workshop with Dawn Ireland

"A lovely way to spend a Sunday. Set in a beautiful, inspiring well equipped studio. Lots of clear instructions and help given along the way. The atmosphere was relaxed but everyone was absorbed in their creations I had given a voucher to my sister for her birthday, it was something she had always wanted a go at, but I have to say, I think I enjoyed it as much as she did."

Dawn Ireland Textile Artist responded:
