An excellent course! I had a great day learning how to create my own print from start to finish. Annette is a knowledgeable and patient teacher who is able to pass on her wealth of experience in a calm and relaxed manner. I learned so much and am looking forward to developing my own skills from her excellent tuition. Highly recommend.

I recently attended a days course of lino cutting and printing. Annette is an natural teacher who instantly made me feel comfortable and welcome. We started with a quick tour of design 21 studios which gave inspiration and set the right mood for the course. Annette helped me explore what I wanted to learn and take away from my experience.
My day went all too quickly. I loved my finished piece and the process of getting there. Annette's passion and enthusiasm was infectious.
Thank you.

Attended the 2 day course with a friend, what a fabulous time we have had! Annette is incredibly generous with her time, knowledge and materials. I would recommend the 2 days as we learnt so much and were able to attempt more ambitious projects by day two. We were able to try so many different tools and materials, I arrived a hobbiest and left a fully fledged print addict! The beauty of this course is that it's just one or two of you with Annette’s undivided attention and knowledge, for the duration - I must have asked a thousand questions….she's very patient and good fun so you will just have the best time!

Response from Annette Rolston:

Thankyou. Good luck with purchasing your press Louise, let me know how it goes. And happy sewing Nicky of your lovely prints on linen to make into cushions

I had a wonderful day with Annette and was very pleased with what I took home. It was great to have all the attention rather than being in a bigger group where you might be struggling on on your own when someone else was being helped. it was a very friendly atmosphere in a lovely place and Annette and I chatted through the day, which was very nice. I learned an enormous amount in one day and lots of different techniques. Highly recommended.

Just had a wonderful 2 day workshop with Annette. I was very lucky to have her undivided attention as shop was shut and the time fairly zoomed past. Very hands on teaching with lots of knowledge shared from how to hold tools and mark make to different ways to ink plates, where to go for equipment, websites to visit - the list goes on. I came home with a huge amount of prints on various papers and fabrics. I would certainly repeat the experience.

Response from Annette Rolston:

Thankyou Lynn. It was a pleasure to tutor you and great to be involved in the experimental progress of your printmaking. Keep it up!

We enjoyed a very informative two days in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Having previously done a short course elsewhere, we just wanted to enhance the skills, but we learned techniques that we had never heard of and produced finished pieces that we were really proud of. It showed us that there is far more to linocut than we had previously thought. Would highly recommend and we hope to return again when we find time.

Response from Annette Rolston:

Thankyou Nancy and Rick, do come back again to continue your knowledge and expertise. A really enjoyable two days.

What a great day we had. We decided to have Mum and daughter day with a difference. Annette was great, showing us lots examples of different techniques before we decided what we wanted to try. Annette was happy to let us experiment and gave us her undivided attention. Her work is a great inspiration. Can heartily recommend as a great way to spend the day...and you never know you might find a new hobby.

I had an absolutely wonderful time on the course with Annette! I felt immediately welcomed and so at home, designermakers21 is an absolutely fabulous place with so many artists and creators under one roof. The class runs with just 2 students so we were very well supported throughout the day and able to learn the skills of lino cutting quickly. Annette is a fabulous artist and her work is such an inspiration. Both myself and the other student were given the freedom to create exactly what we had wanted and I have come away with a selection of fantastic prints. The difficulty is choosing which to hang on my wall! We were taught a range of cutting and inking techniques and had a great time using the enormous press!

I couldn't recommend the course more, or a visit to designermakers21 for that matter!

Thank you so much for everything Annette!

My daughter, husband and I spent the day learning how to lino cut with Annette. We had a fantastic time. Annette is a brilliant teacher (patient, kind, and great at giving just the right advice) and very skilled in lino cutting which means you learn fast and can create a successful plate and great prints all in a day. The venue is great too. I couldn't recommend this course highly enough. Thank you for a lovely day.

I hadn’t had chance to do any Lino print making since college so when searching to find a course that was comprehensive and informal I was pleased to find this course.
Annette the lady who runs the course is lovely and welcoming, with so much experience and a wealth of knowledge in print making and design I was able to discover my love of Lino printing all over again.
The course is structured over two days with just two students so you are able to have one to one tutoring. Annette takes you through all of the different tools, inks fabrics, her beautiful studio is like an Aladdin’s cave full of lovely material and textiles so she encourages you to try out as many different ideas as you like.
At the end of the two days you leave with your lovely creations wishing you had another two days!
We were so well looked after by Annette and I and the other student left buzzing full of ideas, I cannot recommend this course enough and I fully intend on booking myself on further courses.

Bought this for my mums birthday present. Had a wonderful day learning how to make prints, so proud of mine 😊. My mum says its her best birthday present ever. My teenage daughter came and enjoyed it a change from being glued to her phone. A really enjoyable day for everyone. Thank you 😀

My son and I spent a wonder day with Annette on Sunday. She immediately put us at our ease and her warmth, enthusiasm and passion spilled over as she gave us a tour of the shop/studios at the beginning of our visit. We both really enjoyed the lino cut workshop and found the whole experience relaxing and rewarding. Her patience and kindness in helping us through the process from initial mark making and experimentation to inking up and trying out different ways to use the templates we'd made has really inspired me to go on and try it myself at home. I have never considered myself to be at all artistic, but with her expertise, guidance, reassurance and encouragement I now feel that I could produce something to be proud of. I can't wait to have a go.

Annette is a fabulous teacher and shares her knowkedge and experience very generously for every lesson. She showed us a variety of styles and we were all able to create our own projects. I learnt that lino cutting is very versatile and that its normal for a cutting to take many hours. I would throroughly and wholeheartedly recomend this course if you fancy a fun day making prints.
