Karen Wingate reviewed: 2 Online Felt Picture Courses - Summer Storm & Raindrops on Roses

"This course was extremely well organised, started on time straight into assembling the felt backing and building the picture. It was a full on course with every minute being hands on learning with no waffling on. I learnt so much about how to build up a picture background and then how to get the illusion of texture as well as the basic principles of wet felting that was new to me. The day was long but extremely fulfilling and enjoyable producing a fabulous picture at the end of it"

Jules Hayward reviewed: Fused Glass for Beginners - One day workshop

"An absolutely fantastic course, Jan and Alison are both welcoming and very knowledgeable on the subject, making for an informative and enjoyable day. Plenty of theory, advice on tools and techniques, and enough time to get very 'hands on' with as much or little support as you need (as an absolute beginner I needed plenty!) The course is suitable for all abilities, from complete novice to those with more experience in working with glass. I would definitely recommend it."

"Many thanks for your clear instruction and endless patience. I am also grateful for many suggestions for my future workshop plans. I am really pleased with my bowl which is hopefully just the start of a new hobby. Health and safety instruction and equipment provided was spot on, as was lunch and drinks ( thanks Susan ). A pleasure to meet you both. Cheers Mike Brock."

Charlotte Clements reviewed: Beginners crochet course - in Trowbridge, Wiltshire

"I really enjoyed this beginners afternoon of crochet. Lynn was warm, welcoming and fun from start to finish. She had great patience as I struggled with being a left hander and kept the whole process calm and enjoyable whilst I was getting flustered with myself and dropping stitches! I happily went home with a completed 'granny square' which I can add to or make more to sew together. I'm sure I'll be back in the future."

ed crosland reviewed: Two day dry stone walling course for beginners in association with Dry Stone Walling Association of Great Britain

"Firstly i would like to say what a friendly group of people the members are. I had a great weekend learning the basics of dry stone walling with plenty of informal tuition as well as some gathering around a flipchart with Chris who is excellent. I teamed up with another student (Frank) and over two days we built a section of wall that should last a few years! First class experience and after joining I am looking forwards to some days in the fresh air re-building stone walls for everybody's enjoyment of our landscape heritage."

She was really knowledgeable and generous with her resources. I made a few things that I am SO proud of. I really enjoyed the day and would not hesitate to do another one in the near future! Thank you Rosanna, it was a really super day. I would highly recommend this workshop!"

Emma Swinburne reviewed: Beginners Hand spinning - 'From fleece to fibre’ - at All in a Spin

"If I could give this course a higher rating than 5 stars, I would! Dunja was very calm and welcoming and happy to answer the many questions I had! The day was jam packed with demonstrations from Dunja herself, helpful information to take home and lots of opportunity to try out all the processes myself - from meeting the sheep, looking at the many examples of different fleece, washing, carding, spinning and plying a yarn. Dunja had a range of different types of spinning wheels and let me try them out to see which suited me best. I left with my very own hand-spun yarn and good knowledge of how I achieved it! Even after leaving the farm, Dunja has gone out of her way to email me more helpful information. A great, fun, informative day!"

Jackie Rowell reviewed: Art classes for beginners and intermediates

"This is a small, friendly class where we can work individually in our preferred medium - we don't all have to do the same thing at the same time. Sue Wagstaff provides instruction and/or advice where wanted, but encourages us to develop our own creative style. She also makes suggestions for us to step out of our comfort zone, perhaps with pencil, pastel, paint, print, clay or plaster, but it is entirely up to us whether we accept the challenge or not. And we get biscuits!"

Jocelyn Brown reviewed: Beginners Candlemaking for Two - Anglesey, Wales

"I was lucky enough to attend one of Anita's workshops shortly before Christmas - and am so glad that I did. Under her expert and patient guidance I made a very passable Christmas Tree Candle which surprised and delighted my family as they know that I am a woman of very little talent! It was a really lovely evening . Entertaining and interesting and to top it all off a lovely selection of Christmas goodies all served on pretty China plates with tea or coffee in lovely China cups. I have already recommended the workshops to various friends and very much look forward to repeating the experience long before next Christmas."

"I can't recommend this course enough! My friend Yulia and I had a really lovely time yesterday learning how to make a Granny Square. Sowmya is an excellent teacher and a lovely host. She is super patient and her instructions were very clear and easy to follow. She also prepared us a cute little booklet with instructions so we can keep on practicing at home. I'm sure we will come back to her in the future. Thank you Sowmya!!!"

Liz Hutcheon reviewed: 1 day introduction to silver jewellery making

"I received a Jewellery course with Jonathan Deer, from my daughter and son for Christmas this year. Jonathan is very friendly and understanding and was a complete gentleman when I told him that I would like to make myself a specific style of ring as my keepsake from my day. After working in a jewellery shop since leaving school I knew what I wanted my finished item to look like. So we set off to make my ring from scratch. It blew all of our expectations! I am now the proud owner of the most beautiful ring that I will wear forever. My daughter came home with a pretty flower pendant that she made with pride. Both my daughter and myself were so impressed with Jonathans encouragement that he showed us at each stage of production that we felt so confident in what we were doing. To anyone thinking about one of Jonathan's courses, I would highly recommend you book. I am already looking at a couple more courses to hopefully book with him. A superb course!!"

"My first attempt at candle making - I attended a Christmas Candle workshop in December together with my wife. The friendly welcome from Anita and step by step instruction made this a relaxed and enjoyable afternoon's activity. My wife and I are both delighted with the candles we made and they took pride of place on the Christmas table! I would recommend this workshop to anyone wanting a fun craftmaking afternoon - great location - and the cream tea afterwards topped it off!"

Bea Carter reviewed: 'Art of Stained Glass' - Oldbury, Birmingham

"I had a ball. I was an excellent well taught course. I had was given a good overview of stained glass, both modern and historical uses. I was able to create my own design. I was shown how to cut glass to a template then had the experience of cutting glass. This is not as easy as you might think. I was next taught how to block the design and cut the lead to frame the pieces. This course was very comprehensive in the six hours and I was able to finish and take home my creation. So happy. If you want to try a new skill for 2017, this course could be the one."

Tressa Gilmer reviewed: Traditional Saddle Stitching with Armitage Leather

"Nigel Armitage is a true master of leather craft. He has infinite knowledge to share on the subject, & his passion for teaching is apparent. It is one thing to know a subject, & a whole other thing to teach it to someone. He is hands down the best, most intuitive instructor I have ever met. Learning to saddle stitch and make it applicable to several projects, has changed my life! Super grateful to have learned from him."
