Spend 5 days in a beautiful Sussex woodland learning pole lathe turning and other green woodwork techniques and make yourself a chair to cherish for life. The courses are suitable for complete beginners or more experienced wood workers and all tools and materials are provided. The timber used is all locally grown hardwoods. A wholesome lunch is provided . Students may camp overnight. The facilities are basic. The tutor is Danny Harling. He is a carpenter and furniture maker and has been making chairs for 25 years and teaching his craft since 1998.
The woods are near Lewes which is under an hour from London by rail.
What's included in the price?
Tea and coffee always on the go. The world's best flapjack could make an appearance. Lunch is soup and bread or something else warm and wholesome.
The tools and materials are provided.
Transport from the train station ( if you come by public transport ) is not provided. Taxis are about £15
Camping is permitted although facilities are basic . There's a loo but no shower.
