Julie reviewed: Techniques & Tools Workshop

"A completely fantastic day spent learning a totally new skill. Emma was very welcoming and her instruction was at the perfect pace for us all to follow and we all created creatures to be proud of. As a complete novice I came away with the confidence to try my new found hobby on my own. I will look forward to the next course with Emma, her enthusiasm and encouragement make her the perfect tutor."

Hilary Davis reviewed: Techniques & Tools Workshop

"I've attended three Ffolkyffelt courses - after the first I was hooked! I arrived as a complete novice and left having learnt a new skill and having created something that I was quietly very proud of! The instruction is clear and encouraging and Emma is on hand and quick to help with anything you find tricky. I really enjoyed the supportive nature of the rest of the group - creating in a group environment is always so very satisfying. I won't be stopping at just three courses!"

Richard and Jasmin reviewed: Clay Day Workshop

"Jasmin and I had a great time exploring various clays and techniques. Some of which rung a bell from school many years ago, some that were enlightening. It was great to have a day where you could work on different types of clay and methods of construction as it allowed my wife and I to see where we both wanted to follow up on the specific types of creation. I am certain we'll be back so we can both focus on our own preferred areas."

Marie reviewed: Beginners Candlemaking for Two - Anglesey, Wales

"Anita is such a knowledgeable, patient, kind and friendly teacher. Anita was also very welcoming to her beautiful, characterful cottage and nothing was too much trouble. Directions were great. I made a real range of candles from some cute candy pink heart shaped tea lights, some meltlets, scented container candles and a pillar candle. I bought a candle making kit to try at home. Having had some ill health recently, I found it very relaxing. Will definitely return. Birthday celebration with cake, candle making and cups of tea ( or something stronger!) I hope!"

Louise Waltham reviewed: Throwing & hand-building pottery workshops £64 per person for 2 hour workshop

"I had a couple of great lessons. Catherine is a really good and patient teacher, I have never done any throwing before and with her help was able to make some mugs on the wheel and learn some of the principles of throwing and turning. Her workshop is very well set up and I'd reccommend this to anyone who wants to learn ceramics/pottery."

Jenny Taylor reviewed: Upholstery classes at Sandra Fryer's Workshops

"What do you get from Sandra classes? Well not just excellent tuition from a very patient and talented teacher but someone who really cares about her students and who goes the extra mile to help them achieve their personal goals. One or two in my class have probably tackled projects well above their capabilities but Sandra took it all in her profession stride and very encouragingly worked with us to achieve a successful outcome with our projects. I am sure when she saw some of the chairs that Julie and I bought through the door they must have made her heart sink but she always greeted us with a huge smile! I personally enjoyed every minute and have lots of lovely upholstery around my house and another true friend in my life. All the best in the future Jenny taylor"

Vyvyan Fuge reviewed: Blacksmithing for beginners - one day taster

"Attended the two day course in May 2017. Being a very practical, hands-on individual I knew I was going to enjoy the course but didn't realise just how much. The Blacksmith (Aaron) was a master of his craft, providing individual guidance, supervision and encouragement through all the various forging steps, helping you produce works of art that would surprise you. The forging environment is well equipped and the Peterson family are friendly and welcoming. If you want to find your creative side and fancy a go at forging, I can't recommend this course enough. The most enjoyable weekend of productivity I have had in a long time. Thanks Aaron and I'll be back again. Give your dad my regards. Vyvyan"

Jay Castle reviewed: 2-day blacksmithing courses

"Had an absolutely fantastic time on this course and would gladly recommend it to anyone with even a passing interest in blacksmithing, or indeed in art or creating in general. Aaron is great guy and an excellent teacher who makes the subject come alive, and who creates a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere that promotes learning and fun. I will be telling anyone who will listen to go on this course and have a brilliant learning experience."

Kevin Carney reviewed: Wood turning courses in the Midlands

"I’ve tried a bit of woodturning at home and picked it up and put it down on several occasions. I was bought a day with Mark as a birthday gift by my family after they had researched available courses. I have to say that it was a great present and it really hit the spot in terms of what I needed to know. He had talked with me beforehand, asked me questions about my ability, experience and aims and then tailored the day to my needs. Besides the hands-on sessions, the explanations of why things are done in a certain way, the very patient guidance and support, all the practical stuff that everyone needs to know was covered. There were lots of sensible hints and tips, advice on tools, what to look for in wood grain when you’re turning something, how to take your interest further with local clubs and exhibitions. It was a 100 mile round trip for me and I’d happily do it again for another day once I’ve mastered what he taught me and I’m ready for the next stage!"

Emma reviewed: Beginner's Candle Making Private Workshop - Marlow, Buckinghamshire

"I chose this course as it was competitively priced compared to others i'd seen, particularly those in London. I wasn't disappointed, I was amazed; the course was well planned, organised and we got so much out of it. It took place in a lovely location and the day was so relaxed and fun. I came alone, as did others and everyone had a great time together learning to make the products. Sarah is an excellent teacher and I'm so excited to be making my own candles."

Lyn G reviewed: Christmas Pudding - needle felting workshop with The Lady Moth

"I attended this needle felting workshop today (28th May) with no experience whatsoever. There were seven of us altogether and we all finished up with a cute little blue tit in under the four hours Zenia allows for the course. The atmosphere was light-hearted and fun, the company good and the biscuits moreish! She is a very good teacher who demonstrated the process clearly and helped us to achieve birds we were all happy with. Just what you need for a relaxed Sunday afternoon. I was so enthused I have bought a robin kit to make at home. Well worth doing!"

May Abukurah reviewed: Introduction to Frame Loom Weaving

"I met Alice during my research for the University of Portsmouth masters program in interior design. I was amazed with her work and loved her approach to the making process. I decided to give it a try and join one of her workshops which was yesterday. I had an amazing time. Alice is a wonderful tutor who spends the time to explain and show the process of weaving in a pleasant way. Her choice of colour and material is very creative. The atmosphere in her studio is inviting and comfortable. I weaved yarn on the loom along with lovely group of ladies over tea and biscuits. The location allowed us to have a quick lunch at the canteen which is five minutes walk from Alice's studio. At the end of the workshop, each one of us managed to finish a lovely weaved artefact to take home and enjoy."

Martyn jayne reviewed: 2-day blacksmithing courses

"Awesome time!! Aaron is a great teacher and puts you well at ease. Everything we tried was talked through and shown to us right there and then we were supported well through the whole process to end up with some lovely pieces. Aaron is incredibly knowledgeable and engaging, I can't recommend him and the course enough!!"

Jackie MacKinnon reviewed: Upholstery classes at Sandra Fryer's Workshops

"Fantastic environment to learn a lovely craft. Being a complete beginner I wasn't sure what to expect but Sandra guided me through explaining her thought process and plenty discussion. Lots of attention in such a small, intimate group. Would recommend the classes to anyone of any level. Although it took me a few sessions to finish my piece I tried not to think of the price as being for the item but for the knowledge and skills I had acquired, very reasonable all in all! Will be transferring the skills into future project and attending more classes for different techniques"
