Marc reviewed: Firebird Forge Blacksmithing School

"Had a very enjoyable day and managed to produce a number of pieces. Mort is clearly a very knowledgeable bloke and ensured we all left with something we'd made ourselves. I plan to go back again."

Kate Bothwell reviewed: Needle Felting with FURZIE at The National Herb Centre, Banbury, Oxfordshire

"I really enjoyed my first shot at 3D needle felting, Michelle is a brilliant tutor - really knowledgeable and helpful. The quality and value for money of "the kit" was impressive with plenty of extra wool available if required. I would certainly recommend that anyone interested in this form of soft craft should give it a try - excellent value for money and a beautiful venue."

Caroline reviewed: Fused Glass Workshops for beginners & experienced

"I have been to three or four of Ali's glass fusion workshops in Melton and Ratby and she is excellent. I have always thoroughly enjoyed myself and ended up with some lovely pieces of artwork. She is very knowledgeable and stands back enough to give you space to create but is always there to explain and or assist with advice and/or technical information. Well done Ali and see you soon."

Sheila Chambers reviewed: Wood Carving Course

"This was a late Christmas present for my husband and I booked us both in for May. It was new to both of us and the small group of 6 was just right - lots of time for 1-2-1 assistance from Pete. I want to complete my 'green man' and will be looking for the tools to do the job. Very enjoyable, but the tools supplied were stored a bit 'hap-hazard' in the various boxes and individual chisels were hard to find. Would recommend"

Dave Blogg reviewed: Blacksmithing Beginners day courses in Yorkshire and the North East

"What a great day, although I've played about with bits of metal in the past the art of blacksmithing has never come my way, but under the expert guidance of Adrian and Andy I have gained another skill in the crafting of metal. Also the catering by Debbie from tea and biscuits on arrival to cake and coffee at the end of the day was first class. Many thanks to all the team for a truly enjoyable day. Hope to be back for round two before too long. Dave."

Mary Allison reviewed: Landscapes in Fleece

"I've just done a half-day course with SallyAnne making a willow light holder for the garden. I had a fantastic time learning something new. SallyAnne is an excellent tutor and the small group size meant we all had help when we needed it. I wish I lived a bit closer so I could do more willow work courses with SallyAnne, but am definitely going to have another go at one of her other willow projects next time I have some time off work. Excellent value for money and loved the cake and cuppa in the break!"

Tony Burn reviewed: Green wood creative seating course (6 Days)

"What an excellent course. What could be better, a well equipped workshop, superb location, and above all outstanding tuition, guidance and encouragement. This was my first experience with green wood working and to come away after a week with a finished garden seat exceeded my expectation. The seat has been promoted to the inside of the house as a piece of furniture. The course took us from the use of green woodworking tools through cleaving, shaving and then to jointing and assembling the furniture, all using traditional skills and techniques. I look forward to working with Peter on the Table making course."
