Dawn reviewed: One day fused glass course at North Norfolk Stained Glass

"A fabulous day. Paul was welcoming, knowledgeable and an excellent tutor, encouraging us to explore the techniques and allowing time to practise our newly acquired skills. All tools and plenty of materials were provided. The small number on the course, home environment and lunch around the table was really conducive to a friendly learning environment. I have just received my fused glass creation and am chuffed to bits with the result. Highly recommended and I hope to be back."

Priscilla Poon reviewed: Introduction to Ethical Jewellery

"A truly brilliant day of bling and brain food 💍✨ If you'd told me a month ago that I’d be filing, soldering, and polishing my very own pinky ring (and not setting fire to anything in the process), I’d have politely laughed and backed away. But here I am – proud owner of a beautiful handmade piece of forever jewellery and an even bigger appreciation for the craft, all thanks to Emily and her wonderful ethical jewellery course at Metal Smith in Winchester. Emily is a gem herself – warm, endlessly patient, and impressively knowledgeable. She guided us through the often murky waters of the jewellery industry with a perfect blend of honesty, passion and humour. We learned about the origins of our materials, the difference between ethical and not-so-ethical practices, and how even something sparkly can have a story worth listening to. The hands-on part of the day was equal parts fun and mildly terrifying (in the best way). You could choose to make a cute pendant or a ring – I went for the pinky ring, naturally. With Emily’s guidance, I somehow managed to turn a small strip of metal into something I’ll treasure forever. It’s not just jewellery – it’s a memory, a learning, and proof that I have at least some fine motor skills. The day had the perfect mix of challenge and creativity, and I met some lovely, like-minded folks along the way. Honestly, it felt like a wholesome antidote to the fast fashion frenzy – a little pocket of calm, creativity and conscious making. Highly, highly recommend this course if you fancy learning something new, getting your hands dirty (in a sparkly sort of way), and walking away with a piece you made yourself. I’m still chuffed every time I look at my ring and think, “Wait, I made that?!” Thanks Emily – you're a legend. "

Cinzia Imbriano-Merner reviewed: Ecoprinting- exploring the magic and alchemy

"What an absolutely fantastic course, don't think twice about booking! Fiona was extremely knowledgeable, an amazing teacher, with a friendly and enthusiastic manner. Fiona's passion is infectious, and despite thinking it might be difficult for me to continue this outside of the course, Fiona made me see that I could absolutely do this at home, and I was inspired to continue beyond the course. We came away with so many samples and techniques, I learnt a lot and we had thorough notes to take away with us. I'll absolutely be back, it was an absolute delight!"

Earthwise Ecoprints responded:

"Thank you very much for the fabulous review Cinzia., it was lovely to meet you. I am so pleased you enjoyed the day and that you feel confident to start Ecoprinting at home. Looking forward to welcoming you back for more Ecoprinting adventures soon."

Jo Yeates reviewed: Raku - learn the exciting art of rapid Japanese glaze firing

"Fabulous day learning all about Raku firing. Richard certainly knows his stuff, and the whole experience was very interesting. We each chose 4 pots to decorate, glaze and fire, finishing off with reduction and cooling technique. The unpredictability of Raku firing means that the end result is a surprise, and quite honestly a delight. Came home with some stunning looking pots. Fellow potters for the day were also lovely, and made the whole experience even better. Loved it! Thank you Richard. I’ll be back I’m sure. "

Potterydayz responded:

"A great day out under the excellent tuition of Anthony and in the grounds of Zantium studios outside of Wirksworth. Super lunch and lots of snacks to keep us weaving. Ben & Rowan reviewed: Blacksmithing experience - spend a day in the forge

"This course was great. Richard is knowledgeable and passionate about his craft, the level of instruction was good in demonstrating what we were making but we were also left to work independently, with Richard supervising and there to help as required. The workspace was fully equipped with everything we needed. We made a coiled wall hook and a decorative mouse which we were able to keep. We would definitely recommend this experience and would happily book with Richard again."

Red Anvil School of Blacksmithing responded:

"Thank you for your review Ben and Rowan, it was really great to meet you, and I am so pleased to pass on my skills and passion for my art. You were willing and attentive and created pieces of which you should be mightily pleased. I look forward to meeting you again should you wish to attend in the future. Kind regards Richard "

"We were a family group of 5 who had a most relaxing time, in lovely surroundings, while making individual pieces of jewellery which we all love and wore to go home.
