Helen reviewed: Enamelling on Metal/Silver Clay

"Great experience from start to finish. Toni creates a very friendly, easygoing atmosphere. It was helpful to have a little prior experience, but all explanations were very clear, and group size was small, so Toni had time to help individually and answer any questions. Very happy with the results, too (and so is my daughter, who got a lovely pair of earrings out of my silver clay day :))."

"An excellent course for people who know nothing, know a little or are looking to improve their already garnered skills! For 2 people who knew very little about Resin, we now know a whole lot more and the 2 hours flew by - could have spent all day in that workshop with Dave! He was brilliant! Welcoming, encouraging and made us feel like we were pros! Highly recommend for those curious/looking for something different. Thanks Dave! Top Fella! "

Peter reviewed: Beginners 1-day 1-2-1 woodturning workshop for 1 person

"Upon arrival at Louise and Simon's home, I was greeted and put at ease immediately. Once in the workshop, coffee and biscuits were supplied by Louise. Simon and I spent a few minutes chatting about my experience in wood turning (which was none), he then explained the about wood grain (longitudinal and end), different tools and their uses and the safety aspects - personal protective equipment is provided. Simon then started the session with a demonstration, over to me this ended up by turning a length of square wood into a length of a wooden dowel, which eventually evolved to beads and curves. Simon is an excellent tutor knowing to provide advice and using his knowledge to step in and make minor adjustments then stepping back and leaving me to continue, then on to the first project the turning of a small wooden bird (a two piece penguin). After lunch that was a ploughman's style, on to the second project the turning of a bowl. Simon started this session explaining where to stand and the presentation of the tools to the wood. The end result was very pleasing. The day finished almost on time. Thank you very much Simon for your patience and time, I thoroughly enjoyed my time with you, wishing you both every success with Blended Monkey"

Blended Monkey - pottery - woodturning - green woodworking - pole lathe - throwing responded:

"Hi Peter, Thank you for such a heartwarming review. I wish you all the best in your woodturning endeavours. Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you need more help or advice. — Simon"

Wrap up cos the workshop is chilly but TBH you don't notice cos the time goes so quickly....you'll be focused from start to finish! The spoon is already in use and part of the furniture. Thanks for a great day Robert."

"What a wonderful experience! A warm welcome from Louise & Simon before heading off into the workshop. Simon is an excellent tutor who knows his stuff & was able to teach with ease. Anne Atkinson reviewed: Flamework (Lampwork) - Making glass beads for beginners

"Brilliant lampwork class with Toni in Colchester. Well worth the longish drive. She took the time to give me an overview first, give me a rundown all the equipment we would be using, and provided a pair of tinted safety glasses to protect my eyes from potential bits of glass and glare. She demonstrated techniques before guiding me through each one and I have ended up with a collection of lovely glass beads and the information I need to set up my own small workshop! It was relatively tiring, but worth every minute! I LOVED it!"

Aaron reviewed: Damascus knife making in Grassington

"I have been wanting to forge my own knife for a long time and this year I was lucky enough to receive it as a Christmas present. Honestly one of the best presents I've ever had. Richard was such a great teacher, able to guide me through the entire process as well as excitedly talking about the theory of blacksmithing and forging. My knife is perfect, incredibly sharp and extremely pretty. I would 100% recommend this as a gift or if you want to try making something for yourself. "
