Tārālocanā reviewed: Plaster mould making for slip cast ceramics with Ed Bentley

"I spent a lovely creative day with Ed in his home studio. He introduced me to plaster mould making and we created a two part mould. The object I want to cast was unusual and Ed was able to explain decision making and the challenges of casting irregular organic forms. It was a beautiful day and we were able to sit outside for lunch. Ed is very skilled and generous with his expertise and knowledge."

Anne Field reviewed: Block Printing on Fabric

"I did this with a friend and it was fantastic. I don’t have a creative bone in my body and Alison gently cajoled an idea from my brain (with templates and suggestions). She was there every step to show and instruct - but will do as much or as little as you want. I was delighted with my finished block and the tote bag and tea towel. It was fun and informal, incredibly satisfying and I left feeling amazed and delighted at what I had managed to produce! Thank you for a great day. "

Blooming Designs - Art in the Barn responded:

"Dear Anne, It was lovely to meet you. I am so pleased that you enjoyed the day and were pleased with the results, your print was lovely and I am sure that your daughter will be really pleased with her gift ! All the Best Alison "

Jenni reviewed: Introduction to Green Woodworking

"Fantastic! This was a lovely day spent in the woods for me and my Mum. It was really exciting learning how to take a bit of tree trunk and turn it into a tool that we could use. And very satisfying! Matt and Emma were very welcoming, and Matt is a great teacher - he taught us the practical side of things and also shared knowledge and context that gave us more depth of understanding. And it was great having cups of tea round the fire on a cold day! I'd absolutely recommend this course."

Jayne Towndrow reviewed: Celtic Knitting with June Kerr

"This was a super workshop. June is super warm and welcoming and very quick to assist when it goes a bit wrong. Not that I want to suggest this is a difficult process. It was a really interesting process and it's amazing that we are still connecting with the old ways. It was, as she said, really very mindful, I can see how one could get hooked. I think perhaps I could have benefitted from a brighter light. But that's just me. The building is, of course, incredibly beautiful. If you haven't been, don't wait. "

Southlands Arts Centre responded:

"Thank you, Jayne for the review. This is so nice of you. We are glad you enjoyed and we hope to see you at Southlands Arts Centre anytime soon!"

Elizabeth reviewed: Collage workshop with Helen Norman

"An enjoyable morning with great welcome ( thank you Nicki) and friendly group. Helen provided all we needed to start making our own collage artwork, after sharing some of her lovely work. She gave us individual help and advice, and everyone’s work was unique to them. I was motivated to finish my piece later at home, having made encouraging progress in the session. It needed quite intense concentration. Recommend anyone should consider ‘ having a go’ and be surprised!"

Hen House Studio responded:

"Thank you so much for your lovely review and so pleased you enjoyed the process of collage. It was good to meet you and Clare and thank you both for coming to the workshop... we both very impressed with how you achieved atmosphere and tones so I hope you are inspired to make another sometime now you are familiar with the process"
