Jenny F reviewed: Two Day Hand Spinning Workshop in Norfolk

"Loved every minute of the two day workshop - and can't wait for Theresa to do another, and this time a longer one, please! It's taken me a bit of time to catch up since the workshop, hence the delay in writing my review. I found it so helpful to have two consecutive days devoted to learning more about sheep and fleeces, about the variety of spinning wheels we were using, and of course then the spinning. Having a good few hours to practice was phenomenally useful - and the time we spent sorting out our wheels and the hiccups with spinning has meant that I've felt confident to continue practising at home every day since then. Just the best and to find that it really is a peaceful-making experience, even when things go wrong, and the discovering that I can rather put them to rights again. Theresa is a very good teacher - showing us step by baby step to help get us comfortable with some very basic skills, and with these it's felt possible to build confidence little by little. She is wonderfully and widely knowledgeable, always happy to share - with delight and great humour. I also loved working alongside the other group members. I found them such interesting and delightful people - a terrific experience altogether. Which makes me very much hope that Theresa will want to add a four-day workshop or a week's retreat soon in the new year. This would be fantastic! Please, can we do that?!! And thank you - it was such a special weekend. I can't wait to come again."

Aviva reviewed: A complete introduction to wet felting

"I can only echo and agree with all the previous reviews! I was made most welcome by Olga and Michael who are charming and extremely talented hosts. As a complete newcomer to wet felting, I was initially given a huge amount of information about the materials and possibilities, before selecting fibres to work with, and learning the actual method. I came home with a beautiful piece of work. I have been inspired by Olga’s passion and talent and look forward to continuing my felting knowledge."

Elaine Pamphilon reviewed: Free Machine Embroidery

"How can I tell you how much I enjoyed this day course?! Ruth was an excellent teacher and got us using so many different stitches and effects. She has a delightful warm personality and she is a first rate textile artist and inspirational as an instructor. I classed myself a fairly good seamstress, having made men’s suits but I didn’t know any of the embroidery effects that Ruth taught us. I learnt so much, it was a truly enjoyable day."

Helen K reviewed: One day silver jewellery making in Worcestershire.

"We had a fabulous day on Jonathan's narrow boat learning how to make silver jewellery. He was such a great teacher, very calm and patient, and explained things with demonstrations so clearly. In the morning we practised skills using copper wire and planned what we wanted to make and then set about turning those ideas into real jewellery in the afternoon. I was absolutely delighted with the silver ring I made. Thank you so much Jonathan, it was a brilliant experience and worth every penny!"

Komal Ali reviewed: Resin Jewellery Group Class

"I have had so much fun on this workshop. The jewellery making itself was not as hard as I had imagined it may be. And Linda is an excellent facilitator. Full of advice support and encouragement throughout the process. I can genuinely say I am hooked and cannot wait to make more at home. The session was perfect, as it was not overcrowded and Linda was always available to guide us. The instructions were clear and techniques explained clearly. Would highly recommend this to everyone :)"

Steve Barrett reviewed: Make your own ceramic garden ornaments

"I had a fantastic day with Jayne in her Studio making ornaments for the garden. The possibilities were endless but I settled on making some plant stake toppers, a sign for the shed and a toad to sit beside my pond. What great value for money this course is, had I gone out to purchase these things it would have cost a fortune and I wouldn’t have had anywhere near as much fun and satisfaction. I shall certainly be going back for more!"

The Studio at Clapham responded:

"Thank you Steve I’m so pleased you loved your pots and the day. I look forward to seeing you in 2020"

Emily Snowdon reviewed: Blacksmithing Introduction courses in Yorkshire and the North East

"I am sending this review in on behalf of my husband who is utterly useless at anything with buttons and even worse at writing reviews but he had such a fabulous day doing this course that I can't possibly let it go unacknowledged. He is a super hands-on type of guy but had never done anything like this before and he learned loads - he is now seriously thinking about setting up his own home forge (sorry neighbours, sure you'll get over that eventually). I would like to say a huge thanks to Debbie and Ade for the day because although he came home late for tea and absolutely filthy, his hands were pitted and his face wasn't much better but he had the biggest grin plastered on his face and it was so lovely to see that I didn't have the heart to point it out, he was absolutely buzzing. Debbie, he really loves your chilli too. So would I recommend this craft course? Absolutely. Don't think that quite covers it but definitely give it a go, regardless of your current ability, you will be glad you did."
