The Workshop/Taster Days are a great opportunity to come along, get creative and ‘have a go’ at woodworking.
This Wall Clock will give you experience of planing and jointing timber. Following inlaying the hour marker dots, you’ll then seal and wax polish your finished item.
No previous woodworking experience is needed as you will be guided through the processes in the making of the project, using a variety of hand tools.
You'll be able to get a feel for working at a bench, have the opportunity to discuss various aspects of woodworking and take home your own hand-crafted item.
I have a relaxed and informal approach to tuition and there will be no more than four participants on the course to allow for maximum individual attention.
The Dovetail workshop, is located in the beautiful Staffordshire countryside, based in a Grade II listed, mid 19th century boat maintenance building on the Shropshire Union Canal and is within easy reach of the M6, J14.
If you will be redeeming a CraftCourses gift voucher on this course, the voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.
Timber and any other materials for the project are included as is the provision of all tools and equipment required for the course.
A 10% discount is offered for 4 places on the same date.
There are drinks making facilities at the workshop for tea/coffee breaks throughout the day. For lunch; Norbury Wharf Ltd operate a tearoom where you will be able to buy food to eat there or bring back to the workshop. Alternatively, you are welcome to bring your own lunch to eat within the workshop.

My wife bought this course for me as a gift, to make a clock for our narrowboat. It was a brilliant course and I had a great day! The course numbers were reduced to meet the social distance guidelines and it worked well.
The skills needed to make the clock were well taught and I had a thoroughly enjoyable day and happily left at the end of true day with my lovely clock! I would recommend Steve’s courses to anyone, he is a great teacher.

Half day woodwork Course
An excellent experience. Steve was very friendly and helped us produce a very nice piece of work, in this case, a small wall clock. I feel I learnt a great many things, which will be very useful on future woodwork projects.
Response from Dovetail Woodworking:Hi Ed, so pleased to hear you found the 'workshop' both helpful and enjoyable. Steve
