Create a willow mushroom or toadstool the shape is up to you, your creation can have a thin or thick stem and a small or large cap. You can make your mushroom with a traditional basket weave or if you prefer an open random/ free form weave which allows more variation in shape of the cap.
Students will learn a variety of techniques including basic basketry techniques and freeform weaving.
The workshop is suitable for anyone who is new to willow sculpture, as well as those with a little experience.
I am currently using the Wickham Centre near Fareham Hampshire, I am happy to travel please note that there will be an additional fee to visit other venues in the area to cover travel costs.
Please contact me via the 'Ask a Question' tab, before booking as I need a minimum number of 4 people to book on to the course if we are using the hall to cover hire costs, so I may need to advertise the workshop. Other dates may be available.
If you will be redeeming a CraftCourses gift voucher on this course, the voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.
All tools and materials are included along with refreshments and snacks.
You will need to provide your own lunch.
I like to keep my attendee numbers low on a full-day workshop, and with the changes brought about recently the maximum number of participants attending per day is 8
Please note that working with willow can be tiring on your hands.
Please contact me if you have any questions.
All safety measures will be in place
I will provide you with a clear face visor to wear and take home with you, you are of course welcome to wear your own face covering or bring your own equipment if you prefer. You will need to wear a mask in the workshop
I work with Covid 19 safety guidelines.

Had a really enjoyable day with my sister on the willow piglet course. Jacqui was very knowledgeable and friendly in teaching us complete novices. Was a real bonus to be able to take home a fully completed willow pig. Would fully recommend it and I am interested in doing another course.
Response from JaxsArts Willow Sculpture and Crafts:Hi, Debbie thank you for a lovely review, it was a pleasure meeting you both.
Thank you for a lovely day, i really enjoyed it and my pig has been much admired. I would like to do another workshop in the future.
Response from JaxsArts Willow Sculpture and Crafts:Hello Jackie thankyou you are most welcome I am glad that you enjoyed the workshop. If you would like me to add you to my mailing list of future workshops please let me know.
I had a fantastic day first time doing something on my own, I was made very welcome.
People can't believe I made the piglet myself (they said I must of bought it).
I also loved that everything was provided, it was so much easier.
