A practical fibre arts retreat.
Develop the confidence to take risks with your ideas and nurture your own creative voice.
This course is suitable for those new to drawing or making, or for experienced artists wanting to revisit or refresh their practice. In observing the line through drawn marks, we will experiment with different interpretive techniques to find our own linear language. We will explore our artistic process through material play; manipulating yarns, threads, cloth and paper into woven samples.
This is an opportunity to explore and experiment to expand your practice through artistic curiosity. With an openness in approach and slow exploration, we respond to the artwork as at arises, looking at line, texture and naturally born creativity.
During this three day art retreat, we will be considering the line, through observation, mark making and interpretation. Using these start points we will explore linear and spatial relationships and different ways of introducing ‘content’ and detail with fibres and yarns.
With supportive mentoring and shared inspiration, the sessions are designed to encourage participants to notice detail, challenge usual approaches and be aware of their creative responses.
Cancellation and a full refund can be obtained up to 2 weeks before the course starts. Start dates may be amended on request.
