Felted Autumn Landscape (with quality frame)

Relax, unwind and create a work of art that is ready to hang on your wall! On this autumn workshop you will be taught how to ‘paint’ with wool and create a beautiful needle felted landscape, inspired by the Scottish Highlands. This workshop embraces a therapeutic step-by-step approach - perfect for beginners and intermediate level. No artistic experience required yet ideal for any artist keen to learn the technique of 'painting' with wool! Cecily Kate will provide this lovely felted landscape as templates to work from. 'Painting’ with wool is a magical process - fibres can be easily added and removed without damaging the landscape. The soft cloudy quality of the fibres create a diffused image, reminiscent of an impressionist painting. You will learn how to make an initial outline of the landscape, how to layer the dry loose wool fibres onto the pre felt ‘canvas' - much as you would when painting water colour layers on paper. Cecily Kate will guide you every step of the way including how to work with colour, how you create depth/perspective and light/shadow as you gradually needle felt the layers down onto your canvas while building up your piece of art. Final details will be added in the foreground to further enhance your scene. A beautiful wooden shadow box frame is included in order that your painting fits perfectly, allowing you to take your finished work of art straight home to hang on your wall or to gift someone special. There will be further materials and frames to purchase on the day should you wish to create more woolly landscapes at home. Please note, this is a flat needle felting workshop - no wet felting involved.
