Traditional hand embroidery: stumpwork course.
Learn how to raise your embroidery up!
Stumpwork is a 17th Century raised work technique. You will learn techniques such as wired shapes, slips and dimensional embroidery stitches to make your own piece of beautiful embroidery.
This course is suitable for beginners age 16 +. Please wear comfortable casual clothes with closed toe shoes.
This course takes place at the Heritage Skills Centre at Lincoln Castle. Since 2013, the Centre has been offering hands on experience and training, offering a wide range of taster days, short courses and demonstrations in craft, conservation and traditional building skills.
