About the Course
During this ten week stick making course, you will form and complete a walking staff in wood, horn or Antler, polishing it to a superb finish and sizing it to suit you.
Along the way you will learn how to use the various tools and equipment safely and with competence. There are a myriad other things associated with this craft that will be associated with your learning curve and like so many others, you will experience the delight and joy when you finish your own stick.
This course runs twice a year, in Autumn and Spring - please contact via the form above for the next start dates.
Please get in touch with any questions or to book your place.
If booking with a CraftCourses voucher for part or all of the course fee, please fill in the contact form above. Your voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.
What's included in the price?
You get a cup of tea or coffee midway through the lesson, NOTHING else is included, but the associated costs are oddly quite low by comparison to other crafts.
I have been attending this course for more than 5 years. Instruction is excellent and every facet of how to make a quality stick is covered by the Instructor. In addition many things can be learned from the other members of the class and I have picked up many inspiring ideas from the long established set of class members who are all friendly and willing to share their knowledge. The class is held in very pleasant modern surroundings in a well equipped school workshop, the atmosphere is always friendly and welcoming and I would not hesitate to recommend this course to anyone contemplating learning the very interesting skills of Stickmaking.
