Description
Create unique items of jewellery in this amazing medium. Art Clay Silver is a new way of working with metal. It consists of minute particles of silver dust held in a binder which can be sculpted just like clay. Once dried out and fired, it fuses together to produce hallmark quality silver. 1 Day Course Learn various techniques including how to manipulate the clay, add texture, set fireable stones in 3 different ways, create detail, add colour and produce a handmade bail for your chain. A small kiln will be available in the studio. Lori will demonstrate how to fire your pieces and offer advice on further projects to continue at home. Suitable for both beginners and those with some jewellery or silver clay (PMC) experience. Tutor: Lori Ridgway Lori has been making jewellery for many years, taking much of her inspiration from nature. She works mainly with Silver Clay but also uses traditional silver smithing methods. From her Staffordshire studio she collaborates with suppliers and galleries to create custom ranges and bespoke pieces. She has completed the Art Clay Silver Higher Diploma is an experienced tutor. Start: Join us from 9.30am for tea/coffee and introductions. Tuition starts at 10.00am End: Tuition finishes around 4.30pm There is an hour for lunch and breaks whenever you wish. • Purpose built studio in beautiful Peak District setting • Relaxed, creative atmosphere • 4 - 6 students per workshop • Open to both beginners and those with experience • Good fresh food, homemade cakes • Accommodation on site and nearby if required • Private groups welcome (minimum 5 people) Please get in touch for bookings or further information.
What's included in the price?
Fee includes professional tuition, lunches and refreshments. An additional materials fee applies: The £30 cover charge includes 10g of clay, a selection of stones for setting and a chain to hang your pendant. Also use of all tools plus kiln firing of your piece(s). A tasty light lunch is included in the course fee. Let us know of any special dietary needs. Drinks and biscuits are available all day to help yourself with home-made cake mid afternoon. Accommodation available at extra charge: 'Godfrey Hole Cottage' - On site. 2 bedrooms.
