Description

Have you ever stood with your toes dipped in turquoise blue crystal clear water on a summers’ day and felt a sense of peacefulness run through your whole body? Have you ever wanted to recapture this experience on a gloomy winter day? Well here is your opportunity through a seascape oil painting workshop. Painting a seascape in oils is a rewarding way to reconnect with nature and encapsulate the energy of the ocean. Through the brushstrokes and texture of the paint you can recreate the movement of the waves and the ever-changing colours of the water whilst capturing the light rippling on top of the waves. Your individual composition will give you a chance to explore the intricate details of a shoreline, rocks, sand and sky. There are no boundaries. You will immerse yourself in the beauty and power of the sea with the sense of the salty breeze on your face. We will explore oil painting technique, composition, proportion, perspective and most importantly light. If you are new to oil paint do not panic, I will be there to help. If you would prefer to use Acrylic paint that is also fine. So dig out some of those amazing photos you took of your favourite seascape. It would be a great idea if you could have the images enlarged to make it easier to look at the detail. Either A5 or A4 would be good but they do not have to be photo quality. We look forward to welcoming you to this rewarding experience that allows you to immerse yourself in the beauty and power of the sea. What to bring: Canvas stretcher or canvas board. Rectangle or square but no smaller than 60am x 60cm Rough paper to scribble down ideas.
