This was an excellent course, I learnt so much and Beccy was very knowledgeable and helpful. I came away with a beautiful pendant and would be confident to try wrapping sea glass on my own now. I will be back for more of Beccys course.
A wonderful class, I can't wait to do more. The venue was perfect, the teaching was clear and supportive. We are given everything to make some some beautiful pieces, and in a friendly small group. We all had as much individual support and teaching as we needed, and Beccy was great at giving everyone the confidence in their own ability. Some people had worked with silver before and some hadn't, and everyone was supported according to their experience and confidence. The 3 hours flew past and everyone completed their jewellery in that time. I couldn't recommend highly enough, thoroughly enjoyable and inspiring.
So enjoyed this class yesterday - Beccy gave us all an understanding of how to make sea glass jewellery - good instructions at each stage plus a helping hand! I came away with a lovely pair of earrings I made.
I thoroughly enjoyed the sea glass course last night. It was set up in a covid safe way. Beccy is a fab teacher and always makes you feel that you will be able to make something beautiful and I'm happy to say that every time I've attended a course with Beccy I have come away smiling. Definitely recommend
I thoroughly enjoyed the evening. I felt ‘Covid safe’ and was made very welcome. This was my first time doing anything like this and I found Beccy’s tuition inspiring. She made me feel I could actually produce something (even though I’m usually all fist and thumbs clumsy!)
Each stage was demonstrated clearly and simply by Beccy so that I was not daunted by the more challenging steps. With her help and encouragement I produced two very wearable pendants! I thought it was excellent value and I would recommend her courses to anyone.
I did the sea glass workshop. Beccy is a great teacher. Each technique is demonstrated as you go along, and Beccy guides and supports individually in the class too, so there are no worries if you need something re-explained or have any questions.
Everything about the class was ‘Covid-safe’ from the moment we stepped inside, without detracting from the warm, friendly atmosphere in the room.
I’m very happy with my sea glass pendant and look forward to future workshops.
Response from Beccy Gillatt Jewellery:
Penny,My friends and I had a group sea glass session with Becky in March. I am not a beginner but I was a bit rusty. I made a beautiful pair of green glass drop earrings which I’ve had many comments on since. Materials and equipment were all provided plus new and exciting techniques and tools that I’d never used or seen before! Over all this was a great experience. Getting together with good friends, be productive, learn new things and leave with a sense of achievement and a beautiful piece of jewellery. Perfect! Thank you Becky.X
I had a lovely time on this course along with my friends, it was great to have the opportunity to sit and make something together and learn a new skill. Beccy is a brilliant teacher, very patient. Beccy demonstrates the process step by step along the way, stoping at each stage for us to complete that step before moving on to the next, giving clear instructions and helping us when we needed it. She is very approachable and provided a relaxed environment. At the end of the course I learnt a new skill that I can’t wait to use again and we came away with a lovely finished piece of jewellery which I just love wearing and that my friends and family comment on, and also a memory of great day shared with the friends that came along on the course with me.
I enjoyed it so much I signed up for the resin workshop and will definitely be signing up for more 😀
I attended a seaglass jewellery making evening with Beccy in July. Due to coronavirus, Beccy had had to change the normal set-up to accommodate for distancing and single-user tools, and I felt very safe throughout. I had brought my own seaglass and pottery, but the pieces Beccy had brought for us to use were beautiful. She talked us through each step at a level that was understandable, and made a necklace along with us. This made it so much easier to visualise each step we had to take, and video of her making along with us was projected onto a screen behind her so we could see without getting close-up. Beccy was able to come round and help us with anything we were uncertain of, and I always felt she was approachable and supportive of our efforts, with clear instruction where needed.
The necklace turned out beautifully and I now have a wonderful piece of jewellery that I will treasure.
I've already signed up to another course and intend to do more in the future. It was excellent value for 3.5 hours of teaching, plus all the materials required. I felt that I had truly learned a new skill, albeit at a novice level! I was surprised that we could all make such beautiful pieces without previous experience, which is testament to Beccy's teaching.
