About the Course

Make your own organic weekly loaves in this fun, relaxing class with Cate Wetherall

Weekly Loaves | Pizza Base | Special Bakes

Demo One
To begin, we cover the basics – looking at the ingredients, learning the differences between flours and yeasts, and measuring and mixing a great bread dough.

Practical Session One
You’ll have a go at kneading your own dough, which you will leave to prove as we break for coffee.

Practical Session Two
You’ll learn to ‘knock back’ your dough, then make a pizza to cook for lunch.

Practical session Three
Once your dough has proved, you’ll master the art of shaping and baking your loaf to perfection.

We’ll take a break for lunch, which will include your homemade pizzas!

Demo Two
Focaccia, soda Bread or other speciality bread.

By the time you leave you'll be armed with bread and enough knowledge and confidence to bake all your weekly loaves!

I was given this course as a Birthday present and I was a bit unsure it would be 'my type of thing to do', but I thought it was great!
Not stuffy at all, lovely place to go and learn to make bread!, Cate was a great teacher and everyone was made to feel really welcome, plenty of tea and a nice pizza for lunch.
I went home with a loaf and a dozen lovely brown rye rolls and didn't have to take a thing with me!
Recommend having a go if you are in the Oxfordshire area like me, although there are some great local places to stay if you needed to.

This workshop was great fun! I didn't know anything about bread making but as a Mum of 4 lively kids who seem to eat me out of house and home, I wanted to learn how to make organic bread instead of feeding them shop bought products

The class is held in a stunning location in Oxfordshire, in Cate's fantastic modern kitchen,
I attended this class to learn the art of making beautiful organic bread, the good old fashioned way, without the need for mixers or bread maker.
We made our own pizza bases with toppings and enjoyed eating these for our lunch.
We could choose which type of bread we wanted to make and how we wanted to shape into rolls or loaves, everything was supplied for us, we just had to take ourselves on the day!
A small group so was easy to ask questions and get advice I recommend this workshop if you want to learn how to make bread in a relaxed informal atmosphere... Great fun!
