I've been teaching needle felting for over four years and run a variety of workshops with a different theme each month. All are held at The Hive, a lovely family-run haberdashery-cafe in the heart of Shepton Mallet.
Using special needles and different sorts of carded wool (pre-spun), a vast variety of 2D and 3D items can be sculpted. It's an incredibly versatile and simple craft that is highly addictive!
Suitable for beginners and intermediates. Themes this year include elephants, highland cattle, ducks and chickens, cats and dogs and lots more.
Follow the 'Book Online' link above to book your place.
If you will be redeeming a CraftCourses gift voucher on this course, the voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.
What's included in the price?
Workshop length is 2 hours (£25 including starter kit or £20 if you have your own needles and work-base) and includes all the materials you need to make one 3D item plus you get a complementary drink.
You will be offered a variety of images so that you can choose your own design of the month's theme and then be guided on how to create your wool sculpture. People always love these workshops and are often really impressed with what they achieve. We always have lots of fun too!
Please do make the most of our lovely venue and treat yourself to breakfast, lunch or afternoon tea too!

A fantastic evening of felting with Jo Munroe. 😊 10 of us (with varying ability and experience) were guided step by step to create a herd of felt Highland cows. Jo organised the session superbly, with all the materials prepared in little bags for us. Jo was a patient teacher and there were relatively few injuries from needle pricks! Thanks Jo. We thoroughly enjoyed it.
Ah, thank you so much Paula. What a lovely evening. Thank you for your lovely review and more importantly for making me feel like part of the 'gang'! Really enjoyed it.
As a complete beginner i signed up with very little expectations of my own ability. Jo was lovely and immediately made me feel welcome. The friendly atmosphere of the group of v different abilities encouraged and supported everyone equally. The Hive venue was perfect as equally relaxed. I've now attended two w/shops and signed up for a third! I'm hooked. Thank you for sharing your skills Jo and being such a great teacher x
Thanks very much for your review Lyn. It's great you're enjoying your new hobby so much - needle felting is great fun isn't it? And you're picking up the new skills really well. Lovely to have you join in, looking forward to seeing you next month for more 'stabbing'!
