A tactile 1-day workshop exploring 3D needle felting techniques. Von will introduce you to the basic methods of dry felting natural wool fibre. By forming simple shapes and joining them together you will begin to build your soft animal structure. Different shades can be mixed or overlapped to produce markings. The addition of ears and eyes, a tail and nose will complete your creature and bring him/her life.
Mad March hares or Easter Bunnies, your adorable little sculpture will be a talking point for years to come.
Suitable for all skill levels, especially beginners.
Tutor: Von Allen
Von Allen is a professional artist specialising in 3D needle felting techniques. Her work often features animals, with dogs being a particular favourite. Inspired by her own dog’s ability to change personality according to what he thinks it might get him, each character is an individual one off and will not be duplicated.

I recently attended this course at zantium studios.
What a brilliant time I had. The location was beautiful, the house was adorable and homely. Alison was so very welcoming. The course tutor, Von, was very nice and the class of 8 of us were all ladies, who were a great laugh. I learnt a lot on the course and came out with a lovely hare, which I am very proud of!.
The lunch and cake, which Alison so beautifully made for us was absolutely delicious!. I definitely want to go back to zantium studios to learn more crafts. Thankyou to everyone involved in making my day there so special and great fun!
An excellent day in the beautiful rural heart of Derbyshire. The workshop was great fun and excellently run by Von Allen. I was really proud of my cute Hare (Harriet) even though I was a complete beginner. The whole day felt like being a welcome house guest, with a homemade lunch of soup, bread rolls, fruits, cheeses etc. Afternoon tea was, again, homemade. This time mouthwatering chocolate and almond cake. I cannot recommend the event and Zantium Studios highly enough.
A great course, with good instruction. Friendly host and instructor. Lovely food and cake! A thoroughly enjoyable day.
