Suitable for both beginners and improvers, in this class, illustrative embroidery designer/maker Amy Butcher will teach you the stitches needed to create your own festive ‘Little Robin’ embroidery. After demonstrating each stitch you will have the opportunity to practice it, using her pre-printed background as a base. Once he is finished, your robin can be kept framed in his little hoop and a little loop added to make a lovely Christmas decoration.
Everything you need will be provided including threads, fabric, needles, full instructions, a felt backing and an embroidery hoop.
Taught by York-based designer/maker Amy Butcher. She draws inspiration from nature, particularly flowers and plants, which offer such a rich and diverse range of colours, patterns and textures. She works in an illustrative style using fabric as her ‘paint’ and stitching into this to add detail, definition and texture.
