Have you always wanted to be a little more handy around the home or create something special for a loved one? Our Introduction to woodworking & hand tools workshop is for you. Over two consecutive Saturdays, Jake will be going through how to use essential tools to tinker products around the home as well as creating your own unique pieces.
Learn to use:
Sharpening Chisels/Plane Blades (Learn how to keep tools sharp)
Sawing with European & Japanese saws (Their different methods of use and outcomes)
Planing (How to smooth-off timber)
Cutting Joints - Half Lap, Mortise & Tenon, Bridal, Dovetail ( The essentials to creating all types of furniture)
Sanding with different grit (Looking at the finishes of each)
Camping & Gluing joints (How to do it accurately)
Oil/Wax finishing (Completing your new item)
About The Day:
Jake will start with an introduction about the day and find out a little more about what areas of woodworking you would like to focus on. This will ensure each section of the day is relevant to your DIY projects and requirements. Lunch is included and we will contact you beforehand to check on any dietary requirements. The workshop will be informal and questions about specific areas are welcomed. This is a two day Introduction to DIY woodwork & hand tools workshop that is designed to ensure you leave feeling confident using the above woodworking tools at home.
Cancellation and a full refund can be obtained up to 2 weeks before the course starts. Start dates may be amended on request.
