Enjoy learning the skills of applying gold leaf with exquisite effect and painting with gouache using a fine brush to create your own illuminated initial.
You'll be carefully guided through the process of tracing down, gilding, decorating and detailing to produce a beautifully finished handmade letter.
We will be working on letters from a Renaissance alphabet known as White Vine.
Suitable for all levels of ability.
The workshop will be live online via Zoom in two 2-hour sessions with an hour's lunch break.
• The morning runs from 10am to noon
• The afternoon runs from 1pm to 3pm
• A further 30-minute session for questions and sharing will round off the day
As the materials and tools for this project are specialist and varied, a kit containing pre-cut paper, tracedown, gold size, gold leaf, gouache, brushes, plus other items you'll need will be supplied. UK postage is included, overseas will incur extra. A full list of materials is given below.
