Making a pair of handsewn shoes is one of the most rewarding experiences.
This is an intensive course that packs an exhilarating 96 hours of shoe making into 12 days and includes comprehensive course notes and a starter box of specialist tools to help you to keep making. (The course is also available one-to-one if the available dates don't suit or as an evening class if you live in or near London).
Working with hand tools, you will be guided through the 200+ steps in this centuries-old, heritage craft and, at the end, you will walk away with a pair of leather shoes that you have made yourself.
Handsewn leather shoes are a sustainable choice and one of the strongest constructions. They can be repaired time and time again and are made using oak bark tanned leather from Devon for all of the shoemaking components and Italian leather for the uppers.
We also sell all of the shoemaking tools, kits and materials that you need so that you can keep making shoes.
If you will be redeeming a CraftCourses gift voucher on this course, the voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.
