On this 1 day course we will be exploring ways to use ropes in Forest School sites and sessions. Whether it's setting up a simple swing or building tree houses ropes come in handy just about everywhere in the woods. Course Overview: Throughout the day, participants will gain hands-on experience and practical knowledge of utilising ropes effectively within Forest School environments. We'll cover various topics, including: Types of Ropes: Understand the different types of ropes commonly used in outdoor settings, along with their respective advantages and limitations. Mastering Basic Knots: Learn essential knots essential for securing and manipulating ropes safely and efficiently. Innovative Applications: Discover creative ways to integrate ropes into Forest School sessions, enhancing engagement and learning outcomes for participants. Practical Demonstrations: Experience firsthand the setup and implementation of several rope structures, including: Rope Swing: Learn how to safely set up a traditional rope swing, providing children with a thrilling yet secure recreational activity.
