This one day taster session is intended to introduce you to the rhythm and joys of turning greenwood on a traditional pole lathe.
Your tutor will guide you through the tools and techniques used to turn greenwood starting with wood selection before moving onto prepping your wood (billet) for turning using a variety of tools such as a froe, axe and drawknife. During the turning section you will have the opportunity to use gouges, skew and a flat chisels whilst producing a few items to take home such as a honey drizzle, masher, dipper, rolling pin or perhaps a mini mallet, the choice is yours.

The kettle will be on throughout the session for you to enjoy a cuppa (a selection of teas and coffees will be provided, plus individually wrapped biscuits).
