About the Course
Simon Birbeck will take you through the basics of foraging before heading out to explore the flora and fauna in our meadows and hedgerows of our 28 acre small-holding and the surrounding countryside and woodland. Throughout the day you will learn how to identify a selection of edible and poisonous plants and medicines. Simon, a master herbalist will give you cooking tips and recipe ideas and you will return to brew some nettle, pine or lemon balm tea on the open fire.
We are delighted to be working with renowned outdoor specialist (Bsc Hons) and master herbalist Simon Birbeck to bring you a selection of bushcraft, survival, foraging and eco-therapy courses at Talton Mill. We spent a very interesting and informative time on the foraging course led by Simon Birkbeck.
The course was made enjoyable with Simon's knowledge and history of how certain plants were and can be used.
Certainly practical with skills that could be used for your future adventures such as how to light a fire and using nettles in the wild.
The food was also very good which was supplied by Talton Mill.
