About the Course
A happy day of foraging for hedgerow & meadow plants
On this single day course you will be taught by Zanna Hoskins from Champernhayes Flowers and Foliage. Zanna is a Dorset based grower of British flowers and foliage, a forager and florist for wild & wonderful weddings and events. Her knowledge of both field-grown and hedgerow & meadow plants is brought to her floristry.
You will use freshly cut and locally sourced flowers to make summer wreaths, garlands or something for a special event. You will also enjoy a foraging walk to gather additional wild flowers and foliage from around our woodland and hedgerows.... don't forget your wellies!
The walk will be followed by a demonstration back in the workshop, of how to make a summer wreath or table-centre using fully biodegradable natural materials such as willow, dogwood, (maybe a bit of wire), moss, and string, after which you'll be able to get on with it yourselves and get creative, making the most of scent, colour, texture, and form. At the end of the day you'll go home with something beautiful, natural, creative, and totally unique to you..
It is the subtlety of the seed heads, tiny flowers and colours of the British flora at different times of year that inspire the end result...
This course is aimed at adults, aged 18yrs + and is suitable for beginners to experienced florists.
