Craft Your Own Axe Handle: One To One Woodworking Class

Description

During this one to one woodworking class you will learn how to make your very own axe handle. The course is held in our woodland workshop deep within an ancient woodland. Starting from a piece of seasoned ash wood you will be guided through the process of shaping your axe handle using an axe and draw knife. By making your own handle you can tailor the shape and size to suit your own body and your intended use for the axe. After shaping the handle we will spend the afternoon fitting the axe head and getting a quality finish on the handle. By the end of the day, you will leave with a functional axe with a bespoke handle designed to suit your height and grip. For this course we will contact you when you book to discuss your specific requirements. You may have an old axe head that needs a new handle? if not we can provide you a head to work with at an additional cost. Please send us a message if you have any questions. This course will be held under a large shelter but please come dressed for the weather as we will be outdoors for the whole day. No previous experience required.
