Botanical printing with Elisabeth Culshaw

Join us for a fantastic botanical eco printing workshop with Elisabeth Viguie-Culshaw from The Lansdowne House.

Botanical Printing is the natural technique of using floral and foliage elements to create colourful marks on paper and fabric using heat and humidity.

In this one day workshop, we will learn the basics of Botanical Printing, get accustomed with material, mordanting and printing, using easy to obtain natural dyes. We'll start the morning by learning how to prepare our materials as our first botanical bundles go in the dying pots, and we'll make mirror image prints onto fabrics. After a break for lunch in the garden we will start to use the dye pots from earlier to create beautiful prints on both paper and fabrics in beautiful shades of green and blue.

You'll leave the workshop with a selection of beautiful botanical art-works as well as basic knowledge about the technique, and the confidence to keep on dying at home. Elisabeth will share her tips on setting up a small dye pot at home, to help you continue with experimentation and creation on your own.

Cancellation and a full refund can be obtained up to 2 weeks before the course starts. Start dates may be amended on request.
