Botanical ecoprinting: colour with summer leaves [two day workshop]

X

Description

What better way to spend a summer weekend than learning about natural dyes and botanical eco printing in a relaxing and inspiring workshop at my home in south Liverpool and its well stocked garden. Building on your knowledge of the principles and practice of botanical contact ['eco'] printing, you will explore the printing potential of different summer leaves, and ways to enhance the definition and colour of your leaves and prints. Whilst having fun in a small group and relaxing environment, you will learn about differences between leaves and why they differ in their ability to make prints. Having printed some samples with different leaves and natural dyes, you will spend the second day printing your fabric of your own choice [your own, or purchased at the workshop if you wish] with the dyes of your choice. You will also print at least one stack of papers in a dye bath [and more on the second day, if you wish]. The small group of five participants maximum enables learning to be tailored to individuals' prior experience and allows plenty of time for discussion. Normally, a workshop needs a minimum of three participants to run. People who've been on my workshops have said: "Thanks again for a brilliant workshop on Tuesday. My head is buzzing with future projects." [Susan] "Thank you very much for a great day and for all you do to help us to produce some lovely prints. Thanks too, for the lovely lunch and your hospitality throughout the day. I thoroughly enjoyed it." [Chris] PLEASE NOTE: I can recommend overnight accomodation, if required.
