De-stress, re-charge and resource yourself in beautiful woodland surroundings.
These days are for connecting to yourself, others and the natural world, through mindfulness and nature connection practices. We’ll focus on sensory awareness, embodied experience and quiet reflection.
If you love being in nature, want to deepen your connection to the natural world, or feel a pull towards being in nature and re-wilding your life, these days are for you.
The content of the days will vary as the cycle of the seasons changes. I’ll draw on my wealth of experience to offer you a rich and grounded experience through various activities. You’ll learn simple practices to take home for developing self care and well-being in your life.
Come and be nourished by a whole day outdoors with the camp fire, under the mighty oaks and hornbeams with birdsong in the tree canopy.
There’s a huge amount of research that shows how these kinds of activities improve our health and well-being: they reduce stress and anxiety, lower cortisol levels, reduce blood pressure, lower heart rate, boost our immune systems, improve empathy and stimulate creative thinking. This in turn can open us up to reflecting on our place in the wider ecosystem.
Suitable for beginners as well as those with experience. Groups are kept small to support your learning and to comply with social distancing.

Ruby will be drawing on her wealth of experience of mediation, nature connection, bushcraft, and qigong to offer a rich and grounded experience on these days.
Ruby has been practising meditation since 1989 (Theravada tradition), including long periods of solo practice close to nature. She has been an artist/maker and a lover of nature since she was knee-high. She is also qualified in The Therapeutic Application of the Arts, is a trained teacher with 30 years experience and is DBS checked. She has been a qigong practitioner since 2001 with Master Zhixing Wang (in 2014 was given permission from him to teach). Ruby is currently a student of ‘Soulmaking Dharma’ with Catherine McGee.

It was the most wonderful day....really well planned and sorted to give us the very best of the time we had...I was just astonished at how fast the time went....I so rarely loose track of time ...and that shows just how powerful and absorbing the making became.
I enjoyed the workshop hugely. It was great fun, and there was a nice bunch of people. So thanks very much for making it a really interesting and enjoyable two days. I learnt a lot and had fun doing so.
Cordage is so magic. I've done more work on my netted bag, still loving it and it's nearly finished! Thanks for the the fabulous weekend, it really reignited my passion for all things wildcrafty. I loved the mindfulness session - and miss it now I'm back in the city and surrounded by noisy distractions. Really want to do your bone needle course next.
Thank you again Ruby for another inspiring and joy-ful experience. Each time I do one of your courses I feel more and more in tune with, and so grateful for, the amazing gifts from the wildness of this wonderful countryside.
It was a wonderful day. I am thrilled with with what I have learnt. Awesome! Magic! Wonderful! I felt so pleased with myself all kinda empowered and strong. Very content.
Well you know I'll be back for more, I have my sights on grass baskets, needles, pottery and bark containers. Thank you sooo much.
Thank you for such a wonderful weekend of fire-making. We all had such a blast, and learned LOADS. Arthur practised his spark making all the way home in the car, and has continued this morning at the breakfast table… He’s going to have worn out his flint by the end of the week. We will be back again for more adventures.
Thank you Ruby for a lovely day making bone needles. I surprised myself by managing to make not one but two. The site is perfect and sitting by a fire in those woods a joy in itself. I am also glad that you kept us aware of the source of our materials and that the deer which provided them was not forgotten in the process. Engaging with nature needs honesty. Thanks also to my course mates for their good and interesting company.
