Asymmetrical Willow Basket Workshop

Using tried and tested weaving techniques, you will go home with a round-based garden basket with an asymmetrical border, made using Somerset willow and topped with a wooden handle. I will guide you step by step through the process, teaching you how to: start the basket by making a base, how to add the uprights into the base before weaving the sides and border, and finally adding in a wooden handle. An intensive yet fun day full of learning for beginners, in which you will take home not only this unique looking basket but also the skills to make more in the future. Further Information: This basket workshop is aimed at beginners. This workshop and venue are accessible for wheelchair users. As you may expect, willow weaving can be hard work on the hands, so please bear this in mind before you book. Please wear practical clothing; we will be weaving, sawing and drilling!
