About the Course

You will create a willow animal sculpture, choose the workshop you fancy ranging from pigs, deer, rabbit, pheasant, sheep and more similar to that in the pictures.

These workshops are held in my 22ft Yurt which is a short walk from the car park over grass. You will learn how to create sculptures that will look at home in your garden.

I also run workshops at Beningbrough Hall, The Yorkshire Arboretum, the Blacksmith Shop Crafts (Foggathorpe) and at the Hagge Woods Trust (York).

Please see my website for details of up and coming workshops.

If booking with a CraftCourses voucher for part or all of the course fee, please fill in the contact form above or telephone us. Your voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.

What's included in the price?

The workshop price does not include lunch so you need to bring a packed lunch however you will have as much hot and cold drinks as you need throughout the day.

I will provide all the tools you need for the day and the cost of the willow is included in the course fee.

Leilah is an inspiration and an excellent tutor. She put on a course specially for the two of us whilst we were spending a few days in Yorkshire. We came away with two wonderful deer which look great in our garden. Thank you Leilah!

We had a fantastic day with Leilah learning to make willow pigs. Leilah was a great teacher, encouraging and very patient. Our pigs came out very well indeed we were delighted. It was a lovely set up, yurt in the orchardand sunshine which meant we could work outside in gazebos. Friendly group too. Such a great way to spend a Saturday would highly recommend the whole experience. We'll be back!!

I made a wonderful deer that everyone is impressed with. She now has pride of place in our wood. Leilah made us feel very welcome in the Yurt. She is a very patient, confidence-inducing teacher giving lots of help, advice and encouragement when needed. Thank you for such an enjoyable day.

-the Yurt is fabulous
-Leilah is a great teacher, super patient, great at demonstrating and helps you out if you're having difficulty.
-all of the things I have made look like what they are meant to be!

Attended a willow pig course earlier this year. Everybody really enjoyed the course. Leilah is very patient & helpful. Everybody went home with a successful project. The deer looks brilliant too. Looking forward to that in the future.

We had a fabulous day making a deer in the Yurt. Having never done anything like that before we were nervous but Leilah helped us at each step and made it totally doable. Our family couldn't believe we'd made them when we got home! A year later they still look great in our gardens and attract much attention!

The first workshop I attended I made a willow pig. As I was going by myself I was a little nervous as I had never done any willow weaving before. I shouldn't have worried as Leilah, the tutor, was very welcoming and has an excellent teaching style. I loved it and it actually looked like a pig and has pride of place in my garden. I am now addicted and will attend more classes. I would recommend that everyone tries it at least once !!!
