The course has been carefully designed to help you become a better photographer, no matter what stage you begin at. Throughout the duration of the course I’ll work with you to learn to make the most of your camera and realise the full potential of your photography.
Each session we’ll focus on a different area of photography, from landscapes, to portraits and lighting techniques. The small group size allows time for me to speak to each of you as individuals and focus on teaching you the skills you’ll need to advance your photography.
Every session is broken up into two sections:
- The first is theory based. In this section I’ll explain what we’ll be covering in the session and the basics of any new techniques.
- The second section is the practical. In this section you’ll be able to put into practice what we’ve spoken about by carrying out photography tasks.
Throughout the practical tasks I’ll be offering help and guidance so you get the best results possible.
Cancellation and a full refund can be obtained up to 2 weeks before the course starts. Start dates may be amended on request.
We provide drinks and snacks throughout the course, along with all the workshop material.
You will need to provide your own DSLR camera.

March 2020. Having just completed the 6 week course with Charlotte, I feel much more confident going out with my camera and expecting to take much better pictures. The course was done in a very friendly environment, all participants were made to feel at ease, no matter what level they were at, we were shown how to set apertures, shutter speeds and ISO and the effects of each, composition, portraits, landscape all covered in both theory and practical terms. More specialized techniques such as macro and night photography were briefly covered, individuals questions were answered.
I believe I left the course with a much better grasp on the basic essentials needed to take better photographs, I would recommend this course to anyone starting out in photography.
I attended this course in 2017 after stumbling across it on Facebook and it turned out to be fabulous. I had loaned a DSLR camera from my hubby and literally only knew how to switch it on and off when I arrived. Charlotte was super helpful, friendly and taught me so much in the time I was there. My confidence grew week on week and I now take the most amazing pictures for my business and personal life all thanks to Charlotte and all on the manual setting where I adjust exposure etc myself. I am completely hooked and can’t thank her enough. And it is amazing value for money too...I highly recommend it.
