We loved loved this course! Really well organised, informative, friendly and great fun. Couldn’t believe how quickly the day flew by and we left with some completed pieces and a goody bag to finish off our pots. Thank you Tracey!
Response from Tracey Cartledge Artist:
Thank you for your lovely review, Anna. It was a real pleasure to meet you and Molly yesterday and I'm so pleased that you enjoyed the workshop. You both came up with such great designs for your pots and very attractive colour schemes. I'm really looking forward to seeing how they look when you've had a chance to complete them. Well done! Finally done last night. Eyes were hard to do but overall pleased with it.
Very well packaged havent started yet got to get snippers to make circles for eyes. But looking forward to doing
The mosaic flower pot course was really great and made me get the bug to continue!
Tracey was very welcoming, friendly and informative which gives me the courage to carry on.
There is a wealth of material to choose from and I felt like a kid at Christmas- it was so much fun!
The course was a delight from start to finish. I received clear, comprehensive joining information. Being encouraged to consider my design prior to the course was so useful because, on the day, I could then concentrate on absorbing information.
Step by step Tracey walked us through the process of making mosaic. We had the opportunity to create a small piece of work, to experience shaping different types of tile, before moving on to the plant pot. The pace of the day was just perfect. Information flowed. Tracey's studio space is naturally conducive to exploring the medium with an array of mosaic material on offer. Safe ways of working were all covered. Each 'workstation' was laid out with everything we'd need. I didn't complete my piece on the day, but was sent home with all the materials I'd need to successful finish (grout, adhesive, tiles). Tracey generously encourages finding joy with the material. It was a beautiful, memorable, creative day.
I really enjoyed the garden mosaic course with Tracey. With Tracey's support and guidance I was able to start a project I have been thinking about for a long time and left the course with the confidence to continue. The whole day was really relaxing and Tracey is an excellent teacher, with a huge passion for her craft. If you are thinking about trying mosaics I would really recommend giving it a go.
Response from Tracey Cartledge Artist:
Thank you, Laura. It was exciting to see your project start to take shape. It's one of the most ambitious pieces that a student at one of my workshops has tackled but you certainly have all the skills now and definitely the 'can do' attitude to make an excellent job of it. As I said to everybody on the day, if you need any further help or advice whilst you're finishing the mosaic at home, just get in touch!Had a great day in Tracey's workshop just wish the day was longer! Learnt a lot about fixing and grouting and how to cut the tiles. Tracey was very friendly and helpful and I would love to go on another of her courses.

Hi CarolOn Saturday I attended the introduction to mosaics day workshop. Tracey’s friendly enthusiasm made the day thoroughly enjoyable. She explained and demonstrated the various techniques needed to complete a mosaic in different mediums and then offered help and advice as we practiced them. We then completed a small mosaic before starting on our main project this will be completed at home using the contents of the goody bag Tracey supplied.
The day and the studio was arranged in such a way that it felt very safe in view of the present COVID-19 restrictions.
The day exceeded my expectations and I felt pleased with what I had achieved and confident about successfully completing my project. Thank you Tracey for a great day
I attended the introductory course which was really good. Tracey was very helpful and an excellent teacher. It was good to learn alongside others and the available materials were varied and wide ranging - lots of inspiration. I'm really pleased with the mosaic I've started at the workshop and would recommend Tracey and the course wholeheartedly!

Thank you for your review, Helen. It was great to meet you and to see your ideas come to life and develop as you worked out the composition, colour scheme and choice of materials for your mosaic. I think you did an excellent job of it and I'm really looking forward to seeing the finished piece in due course. Well done! Was nervous but Tracey put you at ease. Very knowledgeable. Great start off project to make a decent size fridge mosaic and a more decorative piece which dried throughout the day, and with the time allotted allowed you were able to go back to and learn more quality knowledge about mosaics. Started a larger project as well.
You were given a goodie bag of materials to finish your project at home or if you live near come to her classes once a week.
Thoroughly enjoyed myself and going back for more!!
Response from Tracey Cartledge Artist:
Thank you for the lovely review, Rachel. You made a lot of progress in one day and left with two great mosaics, the completed fridge mosaic and your beautifully detailed robin mosaic. I'm really pleased that I'll be seeing you and the robin again at the weekly evening class!Tracey's introduction to Mosaic course was excellent. It was a relaxing and enjoyable day and I learnt a lot about how to do mosaic. There were 5 of us and Tracey, and after a general introduction, catered to the needs of each individual allowing us to develop our skills as we wished.
I was keen to learn how to cut and shape tiles and felt I could do this with confidence by the end of the day. I also had completed a mini mosaic to learn the whole process and I had started on a project to take home with a goody bag of the materials to complete it with.
She was extremely friendly and helpful and created a lovely atmosphere. I would thoroughly recommend this course if you want to start doing mosaic.

Hi MegA great mosaic course with handy print outs and lots of excellent displays and encouragement. On the day we all made a coaster as well as a large piece which we brought home. Tracey gave us all a goody bag with grout and clear instructions on how to compete our work.
A great day with loads of choice of materials and her zest for makings mosaics is fabulous!

Hi RebeccaExtremely enjoyable day at Cakebread Studios with Tracey and Caroline making a glass on glass mandala.
The ladies are both excellent tutors.Very clear and concise instructions and tips and on-going support throughout the day. All necessary tools and equipment were provided along with an extensive range of glass to choose from to make the mandala.
I would definitely recommend this as a fun and creative day. You will learn a lot and have a beautiful piece to take home with you.

Hi JanI recently took part in a glass appliqué class, making a Mandela Mosaic, glass on glass. I really enjoyed my day and was very happy with it. I have some experience cutting glass, but learnt several new cutting tips that will be very useful. We also experimented with different glues, discussed design and grouting. I found Tracey's experience of mosaic and Caroline's experience of stained glass to be a very good combination of skills. Both were very friendly and knowledgeable, both very approachable. The workshop was well-organised too. No complaints. Very happy.
I'm not a complete beginner in this field, I have attended a glass applique workshop before and really enjoyed it. Lots of help and support, plenty of materials to work with and a lively friendly atmosphere. I don't know where the time went and had not finished but was sent home with appropriate materials and tools to finish the job!
