"Got bought a gift voucher to go on the one day fused glass course and I loved it! All the equipment was organised and available, Martin was patient and knowledgeable and created a relaxed atmosphere to get creative right from the start. Would recommend to anyone!"

"I had a great time on the course, I felt a bit out of my depth at times but Kate was brilliant - really patient and helpful, and I'm still amazed that I managed to finish a picture over the course of the day (the time went very quickly)! There was a lot to take in but it was really interesting and enjoyable."

"The course was quite outside my zone of experience, it was tough day concentration needed through the day and was exactly what I was looking for. The other attendees were good mixers and produced various pieces of work. I think the course could have worked better over 2 days for my standard of work, but other did finish well within time.Kate Billington ran the course kept us on our toes would like to go back on another, well done everyone."

"My first experience of working with such a variety of fused glass materials. A well formulated course, no pressures, excellent tuition and so interesting. After doing stained glass in Martins’s excellent courses previously, I was amazed at the results over a one day course. So many different materials. I can’t wait to see the fired results. Would thoroughly recommend this Day course, no previous experience necessary."

"I originally signed up to one of Martin's 12 week courses to see my friends more. To be honest, I hadn't given much thought to stained glass and didn't have a project in mind. Martin is a great teacher. He guided me through the various techniques with patience and care. He helped me design a project which was both feasible in the 12 weeks and challenging enough to keep me engaged. I'm very happy with the end result and display it proudly in my kitchen. I found his weekly class to be therapeutic and cathartic - a real escape from the daily stresses in life. There is a lovely atmosphere in the classes and everyone is very friendly. Martin even serves up drinks half way through each class - a really nice touch! The only criticism is that I'm left wanting more and I'm currently trying to think of a new project so I can begin more classes! Thank you Martin!"

"The course has given me confidence around glass - cutting shaping foiling leading and assembling various designs. I have been instructed in the use of the specialised glass cutting bandsaw. Creative ideas are gained from observing work of other students as well as from Martin. The class has a light hearted jovial atmosphere and is fun to attend. Martin is always friendly and helpful and not only a good tutor but also happy to arrange alternative replacement sessions if for any reason it is not possible to attend all those that had been ‘booked’ Highly recommended, I look forward to continuing the course next year."

"As a beginner I found the course excellent with Martin taking us 3 beginners through the basic techniques via 2 projects. After these Martin guided us through our own projects. The class had a mixture of levels of skill which was good as I could chat to more advanced classmates about their projects. Martin was very good at sharing his time with everybody, plus he makes a good cup of tea! His classes are relaxed and friendly making learning easy"

"I have been wanting to take up a craft as a hobby for sometime but struggled to find something that appealed as most craft courses seem to be based around sewing. My search is over! I have just finished my first course and have loved every minute of the Friday morning stained glass course. I'm really pleased with my first two 'practice' pieces and have nearly finished my own third piece. Kate has been a great teacher; she is very knowledgeable and patient. She explains and demonstrates every stage of the process and and never seems to mind my asking her to show me how to do something again for the umpteenth time! Now I just need to think of my next project ready to start the next course in January...."

"I came across Martin’s workshop whilst visiting an open day at the Hamlet. I had never thought of doing stained glasswork before but immediately thought of a window for which we needed a stained glass panel and decided to make my own. I was inspired by the work which students were undertaking, the workshop and the atmosphere. Having completed 3 terms the window is now done and even my husband was impressed! Martin is very encouraging and inspires confidence in moments of doubt. There doesn’t seem to be any problem he doesn’t have a solution for and will ensure every piece is a success. I am in awe of the work students undertake under Martin’s guidance and have now signed up for a 4th term."

"I attended an introduction to fused glass workshop run by Martin. Not having attended a workshop before I was a bit unsure of what to expect but I needn't have worried. The workshop is held in a beautiful location and the facilities in the room were fantastic. Each person has an individual work-bench with all the tools required in the glass fusing process so no having to share and wait for people to finish. Martin has a huge amount of experience in working with glass and was an excellent tutor - clear instructions and on hand to help. There was no pressure to complete a certain amount so everyone could go at their own pace. Overall I absolutely loved it and will definitely be booking another workshop."
