"I enjoyed the course immensely, Lucy made me feel welcome and it helped that the other participants were super friendly and helpful as I managed to learn a lot from their individual projects. Lucy was keen to share as much as she could possibly could and no question is a silly question either. I came away having learnt how to sand down a chair, decoupage (both paper and material) on a chair and a picture frame and reupholstering a dining room chair. As well as observing whilst others were being explained the various steps. Lovely snacks and lunch available. I highly recommend this course."

"Another fabulous day with Lucy Renshaw. This is the second course I have been on, a great introduction to interior design giving you lots to think about and go away and play with colours and design. We were lucky with the weather again, sunny and warm sat outside for a lot of the day. We did loads of painting, as well as putting ideas together using materials. We are all looking forward to a follow-up day in autumn, many thanks"

"Lucy lives in a beautiful part of Derbyshire and invites attendees into her lovely home, which is set up perfectly for small workshops, which means you almost get 1-2-1 guidance and assistance on your chosen project. It is a fun, relaxing day and I think it works really well other folk bringing different projects as it means you get to learn from each other. I would highly recommend a day with Lucy, she gave me lots of practical advice and showed me plenty of techniques. It was a joy!"

"Great day. Lucy is excellent at holding a workshop. Friendly, Relaxed flexible attitude to everything and everyone. She could not have been more accommodating and welcoming. An intimate experience in Lucy's home, with great input and assistance as required. Lunch prepared by Lucy, in her garden was a definite bonus, the food was delicious, and the amount of 'time out' just right, as the afternoon raced by to 4pm. I didn't quite finish my upholstery project, but was Confident enough to do the last bit at home. Lucy made sure we all got as much done in the time as we could, without 'pressure'."

"Absolutely loved the course, Lucy is a great teacher. Classes are nice and small (only 4 on the upholstery & upcycling I attended). We all happened to bring a chair each but they were all completely different. Lunch (& cakes) provided were home-made and superb, we even sat outside to eat in the lovely garden. I enjoyed the course so much I have booked the Interior Design course!"

I made buttons for my footstool and piping for cushion covers. Things i always thought were too difficult. It was a very relaxing and enjoyable day with delicious homemade cake and lunch. "Excellent course with Lucy as always. Previous courses I have attended with Lucy have involved making or adapting things whereas this course was more theoretical although Lucy does include some practical tasks. I really enjoyed the day, learned a lot and it gave me a really good foundation in the principles of interior design, tips and 'rules' but with allowance for personal style and creativity. Lucy is always fantastically welcoming and generous with her knowledge, resources and of course food and drink! Highly recommended."

"Wonderfully practical for a total novice like myself. I had very little confidence(and nearly didn't go) as this is a totally new arena for me. Kevin came too and he did the sanding and painting. The very small class (3 of us) was perfect as I think if there were more people, it could be irritating I you had to wait for help. Wonderful homemade cakes and flapjacks served too! We left at the end with some pretty passable creations: a wrecked footstool destined for the tip became a rejuvenated piece that will sell; a tatty cheap chair with an upholstered seat looks amazing now with a new lease of life - and a boring brown nest of tables began to become interesting again with paint and decoupage applied! Highly recommend this course and can't wait to go again! Hope to take some others with us next time as it was such fun, so perfect for a corporate small team-building day out. :-)"

"Absolutely loved the course. Lucy is a good Tutor and excellent host . I am very pleased with the result of my project , which was upholstering an 100 year old dining room chair. Lucy's advise not to paint the chair but just strip it down to the natural wood proved right. My 17 year old daughter also enjoyed it very much and felt treated as an adult. Thank you"

"Superb day in every way! This was my first visit to Lucy's and was a bit nervous but Lucy is so friendly and welcoming and her knowledge is exceptional; she is full of patience and whilst I was concentrating on my project ( a Roman blind) Lucy manages to advise / assist the other ladies but was always on hand to answer questions or help out. We all had different projects and it was great seeing other people's ideas. I managed to go home with a completed blind and the confidence to make more. We were also spoilt with lovely home cooked lunch with plenty of tea and cakes. A thoroughly relaxing day which I hope to repeat again soon."

"Lucy stuffed so much content into our 4 weeks that it was mind blowing, yet she also gave us lots of practical activities, laced with cake and tea, so that the whole course was an absolute joy. With four of us, in Lucy's kitchen, the atmosphere was friendly and warm and she has so much to teach ! I really looked forward to the course every week; we all made so much progress with our respective designs and were sad to leave at the end. Outstanding course - I'd recommend it to anyone that wants to design and decorate a room, or anyone who wants to start to learn about interior design in a lovely relaxed environment.
