Suzanne McNee reviewed: Create fabulous & festive wire and paper birds in Derbyshire

"A thoroughly enjoyable course. The location was beautiful, excellent teaching enabling everyone to make a variety of birds. There was also helpful guidance for creating more birds at home. Thanks so much Liz "

"Hi Suzanne, Lovely to hear from you and thank you for letting me know about your visit to The Slipper Studio. It was great to meet and work with you - thank you for your positivity and humour. Both the metal foil and fine wire enable you to create beautiful pieces, with lots of potential to continue working at home. Happy making Liz Wellby"

Barb M reviewed: The First Cut - lino cutting for beginners & rusty printmakers in Derbyshire

"I thoroughly enjoyed my time with Liz, learning the skills to create and print some lino cut designs. There were three of us on the course and Liz differentiated her approach to cater for our varied previous experiences. I was a complete beginner but still produced some attractive pieces, in the delightful studio setting. It was worth the five hour round trip in torrential rain to experience such a special day. "

Liz Wellby - Artist, Teacher & Maker responded:

"Hi Barbara, Thank you so much for your kind words. You had such a long trip to visit the studio and work with me and it’s really appreciated - I’m so glad that I didn’t let you down! It was a lovely, creative day and a pleasure to work with you, seeing your skills and understanding develop. Lino cutting and printing has so much potential and variety to explore and I hope you’ll enjoy starting this creative journey. Best wishes Liz Wellby "

Tanya Almeida reviewed: Create beautiful paper sculpture in Derbyshire - More tea, Vicar?

"Liz was a welcoming host. She explained how to make the paper sculptures and started us on a simple, achievable piece - a string of birds. We then made a slightly bigger pieces of fruit. In the afternoon we made larger pieces, in my case a coffee pot. There were sample sculptures for us to look at and we could choose which one we wanted to make. Liz was on hand for problem solving and advice. The workshop space is bright and beautiful and Liz provided drinks as an when we wanted. It was a fantastic day and I love the sculptures I made. The pre-workshop instructions were detailed and clear. Liz even appeared at the end of her drive just as we were arriving, to make sure we hadn't got lost."

Liz Wellby - Artist, Teacher & Maker responded:

"Hi Tanya, Good to hear from you and thank you for taking the time to review your day - it’s much appreciated. It was lovely working with you both, seeing your skills and knowledge develop throughout the day. You’re work was fab. You were also great company, as it’s always fun and interesting chatting with other makers. Best wishes Liz Wellby "
