"The course was full of information which was presented in a hands-on practical way. Steven gave individual advice to each of us as and when it was needed but also allowed us time to practise the skills he had taught. The actual scything , in a field, was the highlight, if exceptionally hot. Lots of water and rests to hone our blades made it eadier to cope. The therapeutic effect of the motion of scything combined with seeing the grass cut down was extremely satisfying. The woodland setting for the course, along with soup and drinks being provided on the camp fire, made it a beautiful setting to find out about the act of scything from a much simpler time. A big thank you to both Peter and Steven for their friendly , welcoming approach."

"Had a really good day, Ade was really knowledgeable and passionate about the subject especially with all of the novices there (me included). Rainy day but still enjoying the atmosphere. Only didn’t realise how fit you needed to be to turn the lathe and do the bowl at the same time. Still really pleased with my bowl."
