Kevin reviewed: Oil painting classes with Katie Egerton

"I recently attended one of Katie's beginner oil painting workshops in Lancaster after hearing about them from a friend. I've got some experience painting before but never had formal training. From the moment I walked in I felt welcome and she expertly guided us through the painting process, giving a really well defined process of how to utilise perspective, it's changed the way I approach painting. Highly recommend and I look forward to attending another class in the future. "

Hazel reviewed: Turn a wooden bowl on a traditional pole lathe

"This was the most interesting and enjoyable day and the setting was perfectly situated. Steve was very inspiring, patient and knowledgeable and encouraged me throughout the day. This was the first time I had approached a lathe and I was somewhat apprehensive but with plenty of support I was able to produce what I considered to be a beautiful beech bowl which was an object of surprise and pride. It was lovely to step away from everyday life and immerse myself in something quite different and challenging. I would definitely encourage anyone to give it a go . "

Northern Wood Monkey responded:

"It was a pleasure to turn a bowl with you Hazel. I am so glad you enjoyed the day, and indeed you have a fabulous bowl of your own. "

Mary reviewed: Fused glass workshop - Plymouth

"Absolutely fabulous course. Sheena was a great teacher, with clear and simple communication. I booked the session for my cousins birthday with a few family members, my cousin is gluten free and Sheena kindly went to the extra effort of finding a delicious GF cake for us to enjoy with a cup of tea while we were creating, at no extra cost. The class is great value for money and great fun. I highly recommend. "

"This was my third course at Sallerton Wood and definitely the most challenging and rewarding! I learnt some more greenwood working skills and was able to practise ones I had learnt previously. Andy is a great teacher and a very skilled craftsman with solutions to every problem. The whole two days were really well planned and resourced so everyone achieved success no matter what their previous experience. It was also lovely sharing lunch breaks with a really sociable and interesting group of people in a beautiful woodland setting. I’m looking forward to my next course already!"

We're delighted that you enjoyed the course, the companionship of the other attendees, and the woodland setting of the workshop area. We look forward to seeing you again at Sallerton Wood again when you return for your fourth course, and we look forward to hearing about what you have made on your new shave horse in the meantime! "

Suzanne reviewed: Glass painting taster day

"The class was very well-paced and organised with the opportunity to practice using the materials. There was a sense of accomplishment in coming out with a finished product at the end. Knowledge was delivered in a practical way. This and the great studio surroundings and seeing Derek's achievements have inspired me to take the techniques away to experiment more for myself. I would encourage anyone interested in stained glass to take the chance to meet someone who has spent many years honing the craft and who is passionate about keeping the skills alive while being open to the evolution of new techniques and applications. "

Derek Hunt Artist responded:

"Hi Suzanne, That's a great review, thank you very much for your support and so glad you enjoyed the day. Keep in touch, Best woishes, Derek"
