"A great experience. Paul is highly knowledgable and communicates his instructions in as simple a way as possible. I had a whale of a time trying to shape the vase so it looked one. Thanks Paul for ensuring that I left with something that looked fabulous. The family were all impressed with what I brought home. Definitely coming back for another course!"

Stephanie C reviewed: Reduction lino printing workshop

"This workshop felt like a real gift of time, enthusiasm, skills-building, camaraderie and creative flow. The hours slipped by as we were tutored through the steps and given individual feedback along the way from a wonderful teacher who provided a beautiful setting and relaxed atmosphere. This technique is a little confusing to self-teach so I would recommend this in-person workshop to really understand the process and feel confident in continuing at home. "

Pennybadgerprintworkshops responded:

"Thank you so much for your review, it was a pleasure to meet you. Penny "

Aileen Burgess reviewed: Hardwood table furniture-making course with Finbarr Lucas

"I really enjoyed this three day course making a hardwood side table. It was extremely well organised and this enabled me, as a beginner, to produce a table that I am very pleased with. Finbarr’s organisation and processes enabled me to learn a lot about wood working over the three day course. I would thoroughly recommend this course to anyone who is interested in learning about and producing a high quality piece of furniture. In addition, as a tutor, Finbarr sensitively managed and encouraged individuals within a supportive and calm environment."

Finbarr Lucas responded:

"I’m really grateful for your considered and detailed review Aileen! Thanks so much for joining the course - I really enjoyed meeting you and the others and facilitating your experience of making a table. You produced a really lovely piece of furniture, with carefully made joints and fine finishing. I hope I’ll see you again on a future course!"

Catherine reviewed: Blacksmithing experience - spend a day in the forge

"My boyfriend and I enjoyed the blacksmithing course today as complete beginners. Richard was great at demonstrating and explaining techniques. After an introduction, we were left to be creative and explore the techniques we had been shown with the large array of tools and equipment. Richard helped us to create our visions and was very patient when I needed a bit of extra help. We are really happy with the poppies that we made and are looking forward to finding a spot in the garden for them."

Red Anvil School of Blacksmithing responded:

"Thank you Catherine, it was great to meet you both. I am pleased you enjoyed the experience and were able to explore your creative abilities. Your completed projects were beautifully created, and no mean feat! Richard "

Sarah reviewed: Box cushion workshop

"We drove down from Edinburgh to attend Jody's box cushion class. Jody was welcoming, very easy to be with, and is a great, patient teacher. The premises are bright and airy and the fabric shop has a great selection of material, if you turn up needing some (like we did). We learned so much. Jody has provided us with the confidence to come home and make more. We are so pleased with our cushions that we've planned to get together soon to make some more. Jody offers many other classes, and we'd def make the trip down again to attend something different. We absolutely feel we got great vale for money, and we've already recommended the class to our Airbnb host. "

Jody Gray Upholstery School responded:

"Dear Sarah and Ruth, thank you so much for your lovely review. I am so pleased you enjoyed the class and you both did an amazing job on your cushions! Kind regards Jody "

"Just an absolute pleasure from start to finish’s, and a real escape from everyday life. Instructions was authoritative as you’d expect from such an experienced craftsperson but relaxed and friendly as well. We were supervised but allowed to experiment and try out our own designs. The kids are delighted by the mouse figure we were guided in making in the afternoon, and the garden ornament I made in the morning looks great. "

Ruth Logue reviewed: Quilt in a Day, one-to-one course with Amanda Jane Ogden

"This really was a five star day. I had a very enjoyable day with Amanda teaching me the basics of quilting. Amanda is a fabulous teacher who is extremely patient and explains things clearly. The day was very full and we made the most of very minute. I learned so much and I liked having one-to-one tuition. Amanda showed me various resources during our breaks and followed the day up with helpful contacts and resources, so that I can start to continue my quilting journey independently . I came away with a beautiful miniature quilt and would highly recommend Amanda and this one day course."

Amanda Jane Textiles responded:

"Dear Ruth, thank you for your review. This is just the start of your quilting journey. Your small quilt was put together with great accuracy, so that will stand you in very good stead for the future, I feel. (A 'miniature' quilt would be tiny - but perhaps you will go on to make one of those in time...!) Amanda"
