Jan Reed reviewed: Pottery classes near Bridgend- Hand building with a professional potter with over 30 years experience

"I had such a fantastic and creative time with Jane and the other potters, I came for the morning session and stayed for the whole day! Jane is a great teacher. She made me feel very relaxed despite my lack of experience. I came away with two beautiful hares that I was capable of producing. Jane encouraged me to watch the raku process and everyone shared in everyone's successes. A lovely group of people in a relaxing setting. The groups meet weekly but were very welcoming to a visitor passing through. I would strongly encourage anyone to go along - whatever you consider your skill level to be. I learnt such a lot about the how's and why's of pottery through Jane's infectious, joyful passion for her medium and her own pieces are just stunning. My only regret... I live 300 miles away so can't go back every week!"

Jennifer Bailey reviewed: 2 Online Felt Picture Courses - Summer Storm & Raindrops on Roses

"I learnt so much from Bridget's felting course. She has developed her own individual felting techniques and it was fascinating to learn from her. Bridget has excellent teaching skills. She gave clear instructions and tailored advice on techniques for each individual piece of work and person. She is an inspirational person and her energy is infectious. I've never known 9 hours pass so quickly! :)"

Lara watts reviewed: Private Workshop - Make a Pair of Beautiful Fused Glass Coasters with Gemma Truman & Michelle Keeling - Manchester Craft and Design Centre

"Loved my introduction to glass fusing and the coasters we made. Gemma and Michelle are great instructors who clearly explained everything and answered all questions that I had. They were on hand to help out and give advice when needed. The studio is a lovely bright space with lots of glass inspiration to get you feeling creative. Loved my morning introduction and would recommend to others :)."

Hugh Jones reviewed: Tom Clark: weekend stonecarving course

"I attended a weekend stone-carving course in April. It was a wonderful and inspirational two days. Tom is not just an outstanding stone mason, he is an excellent teacher as well, with a patient and gentle manner. I was delighted with the owl I was able to finish, and was also amazed at some of the outstanding work that the other pupils had completed. Also very noteworthy is the outstanding food, both meals and snacks(all home made), that Tom`s wife constantly supplied us with. Very highly recommended"

"I couldn't fault the course. It was organised so efficiently and each member of the groups needs were met at their own level and their own speed. You explained the process so well and I found the whole thing fascinating. Your pleasant and friendly manner meant everyone felt relaxed and able to work well, share and enjoy themselves."

January Scott reviewed: 2 Online Felt Picture Courses - Summer Storm & Raindrops on Roses

"Despite this course being 9 hours long, the time just flew by and Bridget's enthusiasm for this medium was really catching. She put the same effort and enthusiasm into each candidates work, suggesting a modified approach where appropriate given the aspirations or limitations of each person (I have damaged fingers), leaving us all inspired. I left this course feeling as if I had really learned something and with a piece of work which - although not quite finished and far from perfect - I was really quite proud of. I can't wait to try another picture at home."

Joyce Bramton reviewed: 1 day introduction to silver jewellery making - Ely

"I'd found the course through Craft Courses and tried a day session with Jonathan, coming some distance as I couldn't find any courses closer to where I am based. It was worth every effort I made to travel. He is a very knowledgable tutor and clearly knows his craft. The day was very well structured and I now feel able to take this wonderful craft further. Great day and wonderful value"

David Sivocha reviewed: Blacksmithing for Beginners - Full Day Forging for One

"I went on a course for 2 people, as I went with my mate, and it was a fantastic day. We learnt a huge range of techniques for blacksmithing and had a wonderful time. During the entire day Chris was very informative and very easy to get on with, and he has a natural talent as a teacher. Absolutely worth the price paid and I am looking forward to booking a second course to go back for more! Blacksmithing certainly feels primal and it's fascinating to see how steel moves under the heat. If you want to try something different but seriously enjoyable give this a go!"

Melanie Hope reviewed: Container candlemaking course and wax melts with afternoon tea

"Attended this course with my husband and we both had a great time, even if his candles were better than mine. Julie and Kay are great, they know their stuff and are more than willing to share all the insider secrets, I can't wait to get started at home. We would definitely recommend this course to anyone wanting a fun day out and a new skill."

Alan Newman reviewed: Wood turning courses

"A most enjoyable day's woodturning tuition. Having not used a lathe since leaving school over 50 years ago I wasn't sure how I would manage but was put at ease very quickly and during the day I learned a lot and ended with a lovely bowl to take home. Alan"

Alasdair reviewed: Wood turning courses

"I would like to thank you for the wood turning tuition today. It was the first time in 44 years that I have stood in front of a lathe and I had a thoroughly marvellous time. Your guidance and help were brilliant and the bowl that resulted exceeded my expectations, Liz finds it hard to believe that I had any hand in its manufacture! I'm really looking forward to practicing what you taught me today and I'm sure that we will be meeting again once I have perfected these basic skills for you to teach me some of the more sophisticated techniques that you showed me on your own work. Once again, thank you for an educational and extremely enjoyable day and thank you to Sue for the lovely lunch. Alasdair"

Andrew Leong reviewed: Two day leather work course - bag making

"With no previous experience or even any craft experience I signed up to the two day leather course. The courses are run by Jason, a very patient, friendly and cool guy, in his impressive workshop. The course is all hands on, so you'll be cutting, stitching and making your bag from the morning. By the end of the course you'll have your own bag, which you literally handmade - so you'll feel an absolute sense of accomplishment. Then you'll be hooked. While there are so many great things about this course, for me what I like is that you have a finished bag at the end, something tangible, something to carry with you to remind you what you can achieve. Thanks, Jason, see you soon."

"We visited Jane to give raku a try for my partners birthday because we had always wanted to give it a go. We had the fabulous day that really gave us an insight into what raku can achieve and the different methods that can be used. We would love to return to continue our raku education with Jane who is a true master. I have thoroughly recommend this course to others on my general pottery course."

Jan Norton reviewed: Wire & mixed media sculpture courses with James Ort

"This two day course was brilliant - it doesn't matter if you're a beginner (like me) or come with experience and your own ideas. James is a great teacher - clear about the things that matter and his interventions are positive and supportive. It was a privilege to work in the studio and sit outside for lunch with other participants - who, on this occasion, were skilled creators and fabulous company. It's my second visit to the Phoenix - and I'll definitely be back."

Allison SCott reviewed: Willow Piglet workshop

"Had a lovely day and I brought home Henrietta to join our family. It has inspired me to do more willow craft. Wear warm clothes and substantial footwear as shed open and standing on a cold concrete floor for hours makes you colder. Luckily Victoria bring plenty tea/coffee on regular intervals."
