Sylvia Kelly reviewed: Lampworking Workshop: Full Day Beginners Workshop

"I really enjoyed my full day lamp working session with Suzanne. I have admired Suzanne’s work for several years now and bought a few pieces, but it was the first time that I had done any lamp working and I was amazed by how much we covered in that first session. Suzanne is very skilled and well equipped, she was very calm and patient and demonstrated each technique before we had a go. It was a wonderful day and so interesting! "

Margaret reviewed: Bushcraft Skills - Sharp Tools and Camp Crafts

"I took my teenage son to the whittling course this morning, he loved it! He was so inspired by the experience and knowledge gained from Matt, he's spent the rest of the day creating items including coat hooks which he has now fixed to the kitchen door, they look great. The setting is very special and peaceful with a magical quality that gives a sense of having stepped into another world, a truly relaxing space filled with beautifully handcrafted structures, tools and practical items which inspire creativity. We are looking forward to another visit soon. Thank you Matt for a memorable morning!"

Regina reviewed: Pottery throwing sessions on the potter's wheel in Norfolk

"I had been given the pottery experience for my birthday and was very excited about my time with the expert. It was absolutely amazing and I learned so much within the 2 hours. Pat was excellent in explaining the process in how to deal with the clay and how to operate the wheel, I felt very comfortable and relaxed. I am looking forward to picking up my creations to display them at home. I would encourage anyone to give it a go, it's just so much fun. Thank you so much. "

Hairong reviewed: Quilt in a Day, one-to-one course with Amanda Jane Ogden

"I had a great day at Amanda's home. As a beginner, I was really excited to explore different rulers, rotary knives, and wadding materials. I tried several patterns and made a wonderful quilt that my family loves very much. Amanda is a very patient teacher. It was very thoughtful of her to know my favorite color and prepare fabrics for me. As a researcher working on a book about quilt in contemporary African American women's literature, the discussions with Amanda during our tea breaks were also very helpful. I would absolutely recommend Amanda's course."

Amanda Jane Textiles responded:

"Dear Hairong, Thank you for reviewing the course. I hope that the day will continue to be useful to you in the future, not just with regard to your academic research but also as your engaging new pastime! Amanda"

Tiffany Rowlett reviewed: Whole day silver jewellery making workshop: Gloucestershire

"The most amazing day out for my colleagues and I. We turned up not knowing what to expect, and Sarah put us at ease immediately with her friendly manner and of course the wonderful Bramble! (dog!). None of us had ever made any silver jewellery before, and rather quickly we were making our own pieces. We all laughed, and relaxed, what an amazing way to destress! The lunch was delicious and all home made! We relaxed outside eating beautiful food in the gorgeous countryside. Thank you Sarah, we are all so incredibly excited and proud of the pieces we have all made! "

Laura reviewed: Making Handmade Recycled Paper for Beginners

"Really great course. We learned the entire process from what supplies to use to blending, thickness needed, etc - with hands-on opportunities for all steps. We made several different colours of paper and there were items to add to the mix for more interesting results. Jayne (instructor) was very relaxed and guided us for ideas and techniques, but gave us freedom to experiment. She had different size screens to use for different size paper and also had many example pieces. All supplies were included and we each made lots of different paper to take home. Now to decide how to use them . . . . . ."

Southlands Arts Centre responded:

"Thank you for such a super review, Laura. You are always a pleasure to teach, I'm glad you enjoyed the workshop. We can definitely use the papers for Basia Gorska's Printmaking for Beginners. Did you get them off the cloths yet? You could always post some images on our Facebook page. "

Martin Le Tocq reviewed: Two day stone carving course at Snowshill Manor

"An excellent weekend. The Cotswold venue was beautiful, and perfect weather helped. The projects were well chosen and after basic instruction, Miranda came round and advised, corrected and helped us onto the next stage. We all (nine of us) made good progress through the weekend, and although some were unable to complete their work, Miranda showed us how this could be done at home. She was also very helpful with advice concerning stone, tools and resources."

Amerton Arts Studio responded:

"Thank you for your review Martin, glad you enjoyed the weekend. Best wishes Miranda"

Maggi Allan reviewed: Autumn Foliage and Berries: A Vibrant Watercolour Journey Monday Evenings Via Zoom

"Met Purnima on the cruise and she was a good art teacher. When offered zoom classes with her I jumped at the chance. She explains everything step by step, records the session to allow further practice before the next class. Nothing is too much trouble for her. She is interesting, professional and also funny making her classes really enjoyable. I will be carrying on with my watercolour sessions . No teacher has ever taken the time to demonstrate the basics like Purnima does. I am so appreciative!!"

Art By Purnima responded:

"Thank you Maggie for your kind words, you are making great progress and learning the techniques well. I look forward to teaching you the Landscape follow-up course."
